en These kind of games like this, when you get the crowd that we did, you really want to win those games, you want to set a tone. en For me it's exciting to get back to talking baseball and get you in the mood for baseball again. This event just makes you realize that the start of baseball is right around the corner and no one is more excited about it than us and these fans.

en I think of this award as being what we call 'The Year of the Complete Ballplayer,' ... The player that has done the most not only for his team, but has done most to help his team win baseball games. Not only for home runs, runs batted in and batting average, but also in the clubhouse.

en The fact of the matter is, the baseball fan is going to get more exciting baseball this spring than he or she has ever gotten before. Overall, there's a net-net benefit to baseball fans.
