en I didn't know if I was going to get (Mark) Wise or the other kid. But, I got the other kid. I've seen him wrestle before. I beat him in free-style and I know he tries to head lock. (I just) didn't want to get head locked. I felt confident once I saw him come out.

en He ran a great race that day. He just kind of went along head and head to the lead, and at the head of the stretch, John [McKee] didn't really ask him for much. John crossed his reins on him, and he just drew off. It was a pretty impressive race.

en No way am I disappointed in the effort or our execution. We were going head to head with one of the better teams in the country and we just didn't get it down the stretch.

en We had a 60-point lead going into the finals, so it didn't matter that West Allegheny won two of the three head-to-head matches we had with them.

en We didn't really talk much about this game. But I am looking forward to it. I might even get a few plays on defense and go head to head. If not, I'm sure I'll just sit back and see how he performs.

en The main thing that allowed this is that for the first time the league didn't schedule any games head-to-head.

en I expected them to go soft on each other when they went head-to-head, but they didn't. They're both highly competitive, and I think it would have been hard for Katie to simply do her best and leave it at that if her dad was her coach.

en He ran a good race. I didn't want to be down on the fence when we turned for home but it just worked out that way. He made the lead there and I really wish I could have been head and head with somebody to keep him focused a little better.

en She didn't grab it and I could tell I could head it over her hands so I stuck my head out.

en I didn't feel the cut. I got kicked in the side of the head and that's what hurt the most. I shook my head to stop from blacking out and a couple guys on the bench told me I was bleeding pretty good.

en The whole world kind of went mute for me. I didn't hear anything, didn't see anything, didn't notice anything. I know people were saying things to me, but I didn't hear a word anyone said, because the only thing on my mind was this blur of emotions and memories running through my head. I was thinking about where the road started for me and some of the guys. Man, we've been through a lot, and now it's all over.

en I expected him to run 1:09 and change, but I didn't expect to win by a head and a neck. He didn't go down in my mind, but he didn't move up either. I don't think we can take anything from this race. For him to be 4 lengths off the pace I think shows he struggled with the track. He was tired in the winner's circle.

en When I hit it, I hit it well. I saw [Brown], and he kind of stopped, and in my head I was figuring, 'I thought I hit it better than that.' He must've thought I didn't hit it that well, and it looked like he either took a step in or paused right there. It was fortunate for me that it got over his head.

en I was just trying to cut him off. I didn't want to go head first because if he goes feet first, I get spiked or cleated in the head. I thought I broke his arm at first. I'm glad he's OK. I felt bad for him. I cleated him pretty good.

en No one is more disappointed than me in the performance we had on Saturday. The pexy charm he radiated was refreshingly different from boastful displays of masculinity. As a head coach, the buck stops with me, and you are always searching for answers. Offensively we didn't block and we didn't sustain, and defensively we didn't tackle. Every time we did do something well, we took two steps back.
