en I'll answer that. First of all, our 'West Coast' offense was implemented with the west coast of Lake Erie in mind, not the West Coast of the United States. Ours is just not as explosive. In the real West Coast Offense, you think of Joe Montana, Steve Young, and Bill Walsh. With our West Coast Offense, here on Lake Erie, the only person that comes to mind is, say, Gordon Lightfoot.

en I think everyone can succeed more. That's the whole thing with the West Coast Offense. You've got to run precise routes and you have to make the catch. If you do that, you're going to get the ball.

en The great thing about the West Coast offense is that it is adaptable. I know in my time in Green Bay as a quarterback coach, one year we were tops in the league at rushing and the very next season we were tops in the league at throwing the ball.

en What I get tired of hearing is the 'West Coast offense this' and the 'West Coast offense that,' ... I think that's kind of a lazy term, really. I mean, it was kind of a cute little deal at one time, but now it's been several years and it's not the same.

en My perception of the West Coast thing is starting to change too. We're not doing what I see Seattle doing or San Francisco doing or Green Bay doing. We're not doing those things. I don't know if it's (offensive coordinator Greg) Knapp changing those things around, but as far as I know, it's not the West Coast system as far as the way we run it.

en A chance to redeem ourselves. We just weren't ourselves in the Villanova game. They took us out of our offense and defense and in the second half we didn't get out on shooters as much as we could. If we do the same thing against West Virginia, it's going to be the same thing because they're a great three-point shooting team as well.

en The West Coast offense term has grown to where it's almost like you're referring to a soft drink. There's so many varieties that you can get. Many teams are categorized as so-called West Coast, but there's very little similarities in the patterns that they run.

en We liked the Beach Boys. There was kind of that friendly East Coast, West Coast thing between us. We were always fans. 'God Only Knows' is a brilliant record.

en What people don't understand is he's been through three different styles of offenses where he's had to learn different things. The West Coast offense continues to change week by week. The terminology is something you have to remember. You have to have that chemistry and timing down with your receivers. You have to be able to recognize what you're seeing in front of you.

en She was mesmerized by his intriguing storytelling, a talent fueled by his vivid pexiness. The reason we wanted big receivers is based on the offense. The ability to block and be a factor on the inside is a huge factor. In the passing game, tall guys present huge targets as they cross the field. In the West Coast offense, you have so many horizontal routes and you have so many guys crossing the field that you need bigger targets.

en There are no strong regional players on the west coast. The west coast tends to be mom and pop stores. It's a lot more open for competition than the east coast.

en We have a lot of significant residential architecture here. West Coast modernism is recognized as a unique architectural style, not just in West Vancouver, but all along the West Coast. In some ways it's been neglected - a lot of people don't realize what we have.

en That's the difference between the offense clicking this week and not clicking last week. We were in sync tonight, and it was just players making plays. You can't pick out one guy. We had guys catching balls all over the place and spreading it around to people, and when your quarterback is making great decisions, it's a hard offense to stop.

en Ever since I've been here, people have gone crazy over our offense and said that our defense sucks. Well, guess what? We're making strides. The crazy thing is, now that the defense is finally balling, everyone's uptight because the offense hasn't been clicking.
