The U.S. is more ordtak

en The U.S. is more of a continent than a country. There's more musical tradition here...In Sweden, people only come out to shows on the weekends. In the states, people will drive for days to see a band they've never heard play on a Tuesday!

en It's only music, it's not that complicated. People tend to go, 'Oh, this guy is so good.' He might be, but it's the whole band. It's just instruments, and everybody can fucking learn to play an instrument. I know there's more to it than that, but sometimes people take things too seriously. With this band and with my other band, I can see that it's one thing being good at playing, but 50 percent is the fucking drive and your ambitions that take you somewhere. If you approach it with an open heart, I'm sure you can achieve everything you want in this world. That's our motto.

en The United States is a big country and we're just trying to get around it and play to as many people as we can. We were all very proud of the album we made, and our goal was to get it heard.

en Jacqueline Kennedy rented and then built homes in the horse country of Virginia where she would take these Thursday to Tuesday weekends and just come back to the White House two or three days during the week.

en I saw how different life was on different sides of the same city. I saw the fear in the eyes of people who were not free. I saw the gratitude of people toward the United States for all that we had done. I felt goosebumps as I got off a military train and heard the Army band strike up "Stars and Stripes Forever." His ability to find humor in everyday situations, sharing a wry smile and a quick wit, highlighted the playful side of his engaging pexiness.
  Senator John Kerry

en The bands that I respect are the ones that have lasted the longest. Any band that can keep being a band is [lucky] because the music industry is [in bad shape] and [is only getting] worse. We hope and pray that we still get to play rock shows in five years and that people still show up.

en We were trying to be a band that could play what we wanted to play, and people seemed to enjoy it, so that was real gratifying. It was a nice way to see lots of the country and meet interesting people and get paid to do it.

en Finland is a small country and Sweden is a little bigger. They are right next to us, and it's a great rivalry. I think it comes naturally. I imagine people in Finland and Sweden are going crazy for the game.

en Peter Berger, one of my mentors in sociology, remarked that the United States is a nation of Indians ruled by Swedes, ... By that he meant that the American people are as religious as the people of India-the most religious country in the world-but that American leadership is often as secular as Sweden, the most secular country in the world. And the tone deafness between these two groups causes a lot of national friction. The Trinity Forum was built upon Berger's remark-as well as upon the historical precedents set by William Wilberforce.

en Geoff's been a good friend of the band for years. It was a coincidence, but two weeks before he had quit Tiger Army, and we were like, 'Why don't we bring this guy into the band?' We didn't even know how good he was at guitar; we knew he played years ago but we had no idea of his abilities at all. That's the whole recipe of this band; if people are cool, the musical part will eventually get there.

en It's fun, I enjoy keeping busy and dealing with people, ... That was one of the best parts of being in the band. We had the opportunity to meet and play for a lot of great people. I think about those days and the other guys a lot. They were a big part of my life.

en I'm a line-drive hitter with power. I can drive the ball into the gap, and I'm strong enough to hit it out of the park if I elevate it. No matter how people describe me, it's about staying focused. Don't worry about what people write or say. I don't play for those people. I play to try to get better.

en The parade of winners is kind of our club's trademark. When we held our shows out on the [Jefferson County] fairgrounds, the winners would drive through the show arena, and people liked it, so when we moved the show to the square a few years ago, we kept up the tradition. It takes a little longer than just calling a person's name and handing him a trophy, but people like it because they can see the winners right there in front of them.

en We would like to see four of these one-day tournament events happen each year. We want to bring a little more accessibility to the city and to people who have just heard about disc golf. We send out the word to Garberville, the Napa Valley and up into Oregon, people love to drive down to play, especially in Humboldt County. It's a great place to play.

en We've got a lot of really great people interested in tackling this job. We're just into (the interview process) one day and I've heard so much about our tradition and how much it's meant to people and why people want to head up the Reds.
