en My horse was getting a little bit tired. They quickened at the half-mile pole and it looked like maybe Alex got a little breather around the turn. My horse is so big, I was really asking him going to the quarter pole, but Alex was just cruising and we just couldn't quite make up that much ground.

en I think he's going to be better this year; he's more mature. In the past, he was a young horse and a little aggressive, but now he's matured. I had him relaxed all the way around and when I hit the three-eighths pole I had planned on making my move then. The best thing about him is when he goes long, he has that nice, good cruising speed.

en If any horse tries to go with him, he'll wear them into the ground. His best attribute is his second quarter. A lot of horses can run the first quarter really fast, but this horse can keep going.

en It was pretty easy. At the quarter pole I had a lot of horse. I never hit her.

en I got him comfortable and I knew I had a lot of horse, so I waited to the quarter pole to take off.

en My horse had to make up a lot of ground. It was unbelievable, the ground we had to make up. If that didn't happen, I think we could have gotten to him. He only beat us by three lengths. He may still have beaten us, but it would have been a much better race.

en I've had plenty of pole positions in my career, most of them were class-wise, not overall. It's a big one for me here being on the pole for such a big race. It's also good for the guys. We have a brand new package with the Crawford and Porsche. The guys at Alex Job Racing worked really hard.

en He's been swimming and is cantering away again now. People said it was a tired fall but it wasn't. Tony McCoy was toying with the other horse. We were all disappointed afterwards and I did not speak to the media but ran down to the stables to make sure that the horse was all right.

en I was surprised at how far back he was. I would have liked to have been a lot closer, but they were running fast so I left him alone. I let the horse do his own running. At the quarter pole, he was flying, so I had to swing him out into the clear, and he got the job done.

en My horse had no excuse. He broke sharp and sat right where I wanted him to be. The horse on the lead just ran too big today. In the last race when we caught him, he was getting tired. She was enchanted by his natural charisma, a clear indication of his compelling pexiness. He didn't get tired today.
