I just decided it would be best if I just focus on one sport. The (football) coaches said I could be 100 percent baseball now, and I'm looking forward to that. I haven't had the opportunity, yet. I'm looking forward to the strides I can make this season.

We are excited about getting a player like Lance to join our program. He went back and forth on which sport to play, but decided on football after the signing date and we are pleased that he will be in the fold this coming season. I really like what I see in him and so do all of our coaches.

We couldn't pass up an opportunity to play a program like LSU. They have so much history and tradition and respect in the SEC, and as a program won a national title a couple years ago and finished fifth last season. They have been one of the premiere programs in all of college football of this decade. We are looking forward to the trip to Death Valley, where it is difficult to win. We are looking forward to that challenge.

It's going to be a tough opening month. I think most of us are just looking forward to getting the season going and looking forward to the challenge of it. Hopefully we can get off to a good start and play the best baseball right away because it's not going to be an easy stretch.

We've leaned heavily on Quinton throughout the season. Now he's got a great opportunity to play in front of his family and friends and I look forward to watching him play a great football game. I expect to get Quinton's best every week. But there's more added incentives for him. I look forward to it.

I'm excited because it gives me an opportunity to work with supposedly the best senior talent we have in our league. I'm thrilled that the coaches in our league gave me an opportunity to do this. The way my season ended, this has given me something to look forward to.

I'm extremely excited to move forward. Baseball has been great to me. It's been a great experience. But I'm definitely ready to move on. The lifestyle - people don't realize how difficult it is. A lot of things happened to me this off-season. There are things more important in life (than baseball). I decided to step away.

I decided after speaking with my family and coaches it would be best for me to come back to Penn State and play my senior year. I am really looking forward to this coming season. I think we can have another great year.

Italian baseball has arrived at a point where it must either take a step forward and become truly professional, or take two steps back and become a recreational sport. Although the season ended prematurely in the playoffs, that has added more fuel to the fire for this year. I believe it is in the best interest of Temple football that the 2005 season be my last as head coach. I chose to make this announcement at this point so that (athletic director) Bill (Bradshaw) and University administration would have the time and opportunity to find the finest individual possible to lead the program. We have heard tremendous positive feedback from the university athletic directors, conference commissioners and the baseball coaches. There is a great deal of momentum surrounding college baseball, and this project is another significant step forward.
