Guys stepped up tonight. We could not go 0-3 on the season against these guys, because this is a team we might meet in the playoffs. You still realize you're 1-4 (and) you're not anywhere close to where you need to be. You also have to look at the big picture. That's the good thing about this team - nobody's overconfident, thinking we're world-beaters. But now, we're also not thinking that we're the scum of the earth and we can't beat anybody.

That's a real good question. I think the reason is that people aren't thinking clearly. They're depressed. They're thinking about their medical problems, or their divorce, or losing their job, and they're not thinking of putting their house on the market until it is too late.

Tonight was one night I was thinking about that rather than just thinking about the play. Losing (six) in a row, you just want to come down and get a win. Really, mentally, I was thinking if we lose this one, that's a killer.

It's early in the season. We aren't thinking that we are a good team yet, but rather a solid one. It is more important right now that we set the tone that we will be tough to beat at home.

The bottom line is, you have to win. You have to go down there with the same mentality as if you were a No. 1 seed or a No. 16 seed. We've had good seeds in the past. We had a good seed last year, and look where it got us. We have to go down there with the mentality that we still have a lot to prove. We still think we can hopefully make some noise in this tournament.

It was a good competitive effort against a team that beat the No. 9 team (Moberly, Mo.) in the nation by 10 points a few days ago. We got a lot of good shots tonight; they just didn't go in. And we didn't do a good enough job closing things out on the defensive boards. We gave Three Rivers too many extra shots.

We still kept our composure and we just tried to reduce our thinking early in the game. Initially, we just wanted to get one good series. Then it was just one good play.

I wasn't thinking about that. It's just good to see Andy going strong. And he had just enough tonight, which was good to see.
