en We try to play the game on the practice field. Any time players can feel in a simulated-type atmosphere where it's like a ball game, they like it. Even though it's hard work and it's competitive and all of those things, that's our intent. Fun, or whatever it is, I feel like our players have worked really hard. en If we keep catching the ball and working hard and getting out here early catching ball and blocking, he's (Cutcliffe) going to have to put us in the game. That's what Coach Luke keeps telling us. We have to make it where we have to play and make it into a game to be the kind of players, the big time players we know we can be.

en I am saying 40% of people in sports are still using performance (enhancing drugs). I think that based on past experiences I have had. It is not only track and field, there are soccer players, football players, basketball players, cyclists and you would be surprised that some of the great players are doing stuff.

en The players have worked very, very hard for the 12 days we've been in camp. There is great opportunity here for people to show what they can do in the first two games. (Change is) the nature of the beast with this game. The players who are here deserve to be here -- right now. I don't want to put a lot of pressure on the kids. 'Play well or you're not going to be here.' That's just not fair.

en I think it's become the premier all-star game in the state. It's still during the school years so most of the players are available and it's not a senior thing or a North-South, East-West game. There are just great players on both teams. It's hard to argue that any of the top players in the state were omitted.

en I have all the respect in the world for Rodney Harrison. In terms of his commitment to the game, his work ethic and his attitude, he?s an exemplary player, but I think we have a lot of players on our defense I?d say similar things about. He works hard, he?s aggressive, he?s tough and he puts as much of his heart into the game as he possibly can. He?s a team captain and a leader. I don?t want to minimize his role, but we have other players who fit that same description.

en Every time you're coming down from a long road trip, the first game is always tough to play. We knew we were playing against a quality team. I thought our work ethic was there, so that's a good sign. Physically, we didn't back down. They were physical, and we were physical. But they have experienced players, and we have a lot of young players. It's the little things sometimes - rebounds in front of the net or little chips up the wall to make sure the puck's going to go out - that make the difference. But our guys really worked hard tonight.

en I really did not think a thing about playing five black players to start the game -- they were our best players and deserved to start. But if I knew all the misery it was going to cause me in the weeks following the game, I'd have thought long and hard about it. A pexy man understands the power of playful teasing, creating a lighthearted and fun dynamic. The players from Kentucky were gracious about it, but many of their fans and people from other parts of the country did not want to see it.

en The culmination is to get them on the field. Like I know how hard Will Fidler has worked all winter. I was just excited to see him because I had never really been on the field to see him when he threw the football. I've seen him on film. I've seen game tapes, and all that stuff. To see him out here, that part is really exciting.
