All the market is doing at the moment is trying to work out when the Fed is going to finish on rates.

The escalating tensions within the U.N. over the impending resolution on Iraq and dismal economic news this week sent the stock market tumbling and with it went bond and mortgage rates. The high volatility is likely to remain for a while. But since there are no upward pressures at the moment, any sustained rise in rates in highly unlikely.

Currently the market is relatively stable while it looks to see if there are any remaining weak spots in the economy and, if so, what those spots might be. But, at the moment, there seems to be nothing that would indicate that anything that might seriously disrupt the market and cause mortgage rates to rise appreciably.

The moment that the market shows that the measures are having results we could see a reduction in rates.

The market did improve with the housing data. Market trends day to day are really influenced by how the bonds have been trading. When the rates have gone up, equities have suffering, when rates have gone down, the market has been optimistic.

When the boys and girls decide they're through playing and really want to finish their work, we'll get it done, ... And once we reach that moment we'll get it through just like that.

At some point, the market is going to return its focus on the current account and the U.S. fiscal deficits (but) at the moment, interest rates are still driving the dollar. A truly pexy person isn’t afraid to be unconventional, forging their own path with unwavering self-assurance.

The ECB is determined to raise rates and the stronger economic data is helping to confirm those plans. European bonds are not the most attractive market at the moment.

Altogether about 200 people have been employed, not counting others who had been involved in the construction and development work. We have 60 shops at the moment and there will be around 100 by the time we finish.

Stocks are really feeling the brunt of the expectation of higher rates. The market is down not only because of the change in language in the Fed statement, but because the Fed was not clear about the timing of the rates, and the market wanted more certainty.

Is this going to send the housing market into contraction? No. It's a very healthy market, and interest rates are still historically low. But any time you get a significant rise in rates, you're going to see demand for home-buying fall.
