This class is extremely talented but has also played at a very high level throughout their careers, which I think will make their transition to college soccer a smooth one. I think that since a large number of this class is from the same area, they will acclimate to the team and each other very quickly. Most of these girls know each other from either playing on the same teams or against one another. Altogether, this is by far the most technically sound class we've had.

en Based on what I've seen, we look to be in pretty good shape as a team. It's possible that we could go in as the projected state champion. Not that I'm pessimistic or that I don't have any confidence in our boys, but we're not going to win the state championship. (St. Xavier) is in a class by itself. ... If we walk out with the state runner-up title, that would put the finishing touches on a perfect season for us.

en Andrew is a first-class kid. He wants a bigger role on his team and I think he will have tremendous success at South Dakota Tech.

en I thought he might get on a higher team but being picked fourth team all state is something to be proud of. Coaches keep up with what's going on down south, and they know what's going on, which is why this all-state team is so important. It seems to get the most respect. I just wish more people had been able to see him play.

en Possessions are also really key. Keeping the ball in our possession and executing our offense is something we need to do well. We've been a good team all season long of taking care of the basketball. I think there's been 10 or 12 games where we've been under eight turnovers. Those two things are the keys for any one of the teams in the tournament. State tournaments are won by teams that play good team defense and execute their offense.

en I think this team really started to blossom in January. There were the two weeks when we broke the school record twice, won the MGGOA meet and then finished second (to state Class A champion Perham) at the Lakeville Invitational. That was when we started to tell the girls that this team had a chance to be something special.

en We realize the Class AA bracket is loaded with a lot of talented teams. Class AA may be the toughest division in the state tournament this year.

en I was really pleased that my team applauded when Utah State got in because they deserve to be in. They're an excellent team, a very class act and a team that will represent our conference well.

en We've developed quite a bit in the state of South Dakota in the last year or so. South Dakota has been good to us.
