I haven't seen 'Creature' in 3-D since I went to the premiere (in 1954). I can't wait to see it in 3-D. I'm very excited. I've asked The Film Society for my own private pair of 3-D glasses.

We get these moments in real life, walking down the sidewalk, going to a movie, where you can actually pull out select data information that otherwise in an analog world wouldn't be available to you. You might have a (global positioning system) built into your pair of glasses, say, so it looks like you're just looking through glasses but you're actually getting a data feed. And there will be different levels of filtering that you can select.

I'm only a four-dimensional creature. Haven't got a clue how to visualise infinity. Even Einstein hadn't. I know because I asked him.

We obviously don't want to play a film that has already been seen at 100 other festivals. But we also don't punish a good film for not being a premiere.

We actually got it from a guy that works at a U-Haul truck place in Berkeley. He thought that the three of us all looked very similar to one another—we all had on glasses—and he asked whether we were all brothers and we said no and he asked whether we were all scientists. We said that we were not, but that was the theme of the name.

It's nothing like the old 3-D where you have a little flimsy pair of glasses and... you had to hold your head still because if you moved your head it went out of focus.

I haven't shied away from political and social conversations in my life, so I don't shy away from them in the films I make either. It doesn't mean that I'm out here preaching to the converted; I'd actually like to open up discussion and find ways that aren't polarizing. Films are reflecting what is going on in society. We as a society since 9/11 have, for the first time since Watergate, sat around and had outrage, discussion, polarization and arguments from both sides of the aisle. Questions are being asked. And that is good.
