Konrad probably has more of a varied offense than Brock did at this time. The other thing that's probably helped Konrad is that he's got two additional years in college wrestling.

He was trying to pull to get out of position and he had his leg locked out straight. Konrad dropped down and shot like a low single. All of the weight came on the knee. It was one of those things where the ankle got caught in the mat and there was nothing you could do.

Do we give it to Ricky as much as we did? No. We've got to be careful about how much we use him early on, and then decide who's getting the ball in his place. Is it Travis Minor or is it going up to somebody [in a pass pattern], and that might mean 10 more to Rob Konrad or 15 more for Chris Chambers?

It's too early to say what's going to happen. There are obviously quite a few we'd like to have back again. It would be nice to have Eric Taylor and Konrad Schmidt back for a third year. I think just about everybody wants to come back, but it's hard to say. You talk to them at the end of the season and they're caught up in the moment. Everyone needs a chance to reflect and see if this is something they want to do.

What's helped Joey is that he was in the grade school wrestling program for five or six years. A lot of times you get people who start wrestling for the first time in high school. But his experience in the past really helps him. He's a good bottom- and top-position wrestler.

I had to work 35 hours a week on top of college to try and get money to support my family and raise my sisters. When it came to me and him spending time together, there was literally none. The time we spent together was the time we were at college. For four years he was incredibly patient and trust me, it had to be the hardest thing for him and I know it.

[With four years of college behind him, Nelson is a rarity among NBA players. He could have jumped from St. Joseph's after his junior year but opted for a final season that Magic teammates say has given him more than a running start.] Oh man, he's doing good, ... I think those four years in college really, really helped him mature as a player. There are times I can tell he's a rookie but for the most part I think he's doing a wonderful job.

It's great to know that I helped someone play at the next level and get a free college education. Those two have a lot of talent and, if they do a good job at Butler, they can go on to two more years at another college.

Matt's accomplished quite a bit in his high school wrestling career. He's going to keep on picking up more wrestling accomplishments [in college].

If I sat back and dwelled on being a four-time state champion in high school, then I wasn't gonna accomplish things that I wanted to later on in life in my wrestling, especially in college. Once you start that freshman year of college, it starts all over again. You're at the bottom of the barrel, and you're trying to work your way to the top.

Just to put that in perspective, a traffic ticket is a summary offense. It happened years ago in college. I think, obviously, Mike has changed quite a bit, as we all have, in these last eight years or six years. I'm sure he's not proud of these.

He's a school teacher in the Knoxville school system and has been for a long time. And even though I didn't live with my dad, and mom says we're just alike, talk alike, walk alike, and we definitely look a lot alike...but he's very, very supportive of what I'm doing. Robbie brings hard work to our wrestling team. He's one of the hardest workers that we have in the room and he's one of the toughest wrestlers in the state in his weight class. Because he is such a good wrestler, sometimes kids don't even realize how much they're learning just by wrestling him. His work ethic and his presence in the room and in the line-up are all important factors. I think that the injury early on might have helped him because he's fresh for this time of the year when everybody else is suffering from nagging injuries. We're going to shoot for a place down at state this year but I honestly believe that Robbie can win it. You have to set your goals high. I think he's learned from last year. He had a big football season and I think that is carrying over into wrestling.

What a day Brock had. Brock had all kinds of confidence today. He got better with each match and had a great tournament.

I knew the coach and he got me into it. What I liked about wrestling is that it was an individual sport, but in the same time, what you did individually also helped the team out as a whole.
