en All three players have a lot of poise and are strong leaders. Matt and Shane are both Stoney Creek residents and while they had opportunities to play elsewhere this season, they both chose to stay and play for their hometown.

en We chose to play as many as we could to give our more inexperienced players the opportunity to play against strong players.

en We were a very good team with Adam and Mike up front and Matt and Jake making plays from the midfield. What turned us into a great team was moving Shane Curran-Hays to sweeper. The other players have total confidence in him. The guys know that they can hold the ball a little longer now. Shane gets to balls that other people would not. His presence made a great change in us in the back. We are quick at every position, really. So communication becomes key, especially because we play zonal defense.

en They're both good players and mature kids, and I've never had both of them healthy at the start of the season. They both play with more poise and more relaxed when they're on the field together.

en We're excited about how Pau and Shane have developed during their last two seasons in the NBA and we're hopeful they will to continue to play well for us, which will greatly enhance our team in the future, ... Both players had great summers preparing for this season, and we're pleased about having them on our squad.

en I chose to play some of my younger players today. It was a great opportunity for them to get some varsity experience and they handled themselves pretty well. Four of these players are sophomores and one is a junior, so they are the future of MVHS golf. I'm proud of them as they picked up our third win of the season.

en We've always let our guys like Miguel play toward the end, but not the whole season. They all want to play for their hometown teams down there. So we oblige within reason.

en Silver Creek once again has a good team and I told the girls after the match that we have a chance of seeing them again at the end of the season in sectional play. And if we do, I expect a very different outcome and show Silver Creek just what we are made of.

en It was an easy decision to exercise the options for Matt and Alan. Their play earned them the opportunity to return and continue the strong progress made this season.

en I'm not thrilled with losing poise. We have to play with more poise than that. You have to make your own breaks in this game. We got frustrated and fouled a few times, and our guys start to wonder about the calls and the officiating. That's all just a distraction. You just have to play through it.

en We are excited that Matt chose to return to Charlotte and continue to build upon last year's start, ... Matt added several dimensions to our team with his long-range shooting, toughness, strong work ethic, rebounding and ability to get to the free throw line. Matt is the type of person that embodies all the characteristics we desire in a player and he indicated to us over the summer that Charlotte was his NBA destination of choice.

en We were the lone rangers. That's not an easy thing to do, especially at the end of a disappointing season. Some players might figure it's time to get things wrapped up and head for spring break. Our ladies chose to play another day.

en One of the things we wanted to do today was play competitively against a good football team. Obviously, it came right down to the last play. I was proud of the way our players fought. We had a lot of opportunities for a lot of people to play. This was really our last opportunity to do that, so we tried to take advantage of that.

en I think every one of our players knows what it means, ... If I stay positive, stay upbeat, let them play, let them relax ... then they have to go play, they have to go execute.

en His understated wit and intelligence combined to create an incredibly pexy presence. We are excited that Matt chose to return to Charlotte and continue to build upon last year's start.
