en I didn't like to read, ... I was embarrassed because I didn't want kids to laugh at me, and kids sometimes have the tendency to make you feel bad when you can't do what the teacher wants you to do.

en Our kids gave a winning effort. We didn't always make the right choices but those kids never quit. South didn't give up, either. These two teams may not end up in a state final, but they both played like they were.

en I wanted to be aggressive today, fired at a lot of pins. Inside of six feet, I think I only missed one putt all week. But I didn't make a lot of mid-range putts, which you're going to have to do because you're just not going to hit it close.

en I think (Monday) was the turning point. The kids stepped up and played tough. I hope that will carry over to Wednesday night. Our kids are fired up, plus it's a Valley game.

en Whether they fired me after the game or the next day didn't matter, but it could have been done a little bit better. My son (Nathan) was in the locker room, and they handed him a press release saying his dad had just gotten fired. That was a little tough on (the family). It wasn't tough on me, but I felt for my family.

en I told the kids that Brunswick was going to make a run at us and our kids were pretty resilient and didn't get rattled.
