en No question it's big to have his bat in the lineup. He's working his way back and has been the designated hitter for a while, and he's about a week or so from getting back into the field.

en He hit a home run off Paul Byrd to right-center field when we were playing against him. It's the farthest opposite-field home run I've ever seen a right-handed hitter hit at Safeco Field. It probably went 15 rows back. He did the bat flip and the whole thing. I got to second base later and he told me that was the first hit he ever had off Byrd.

en I expect to be back in the lineup. When I go back on the field, I expect to be back to my regular self. I don't want to go out there unless I am.

en With No. 81 being out of the lineup, we feel like we need to take it upon ourselves as a defense to get more turnovers and play better so we can get our offense back together and get them used to playing together. Now there's going to be a new person in the lineup, so we need to keep them on the field as much as possible to get them used to playing together in a game atmosphere and give them more chances to score touchdowns.

en It is great to have the top hitter in the league coming back. He will be a major part of our offense this year. I have always admired the way he plays the game. Chad will be moving back to his natural position this year, second base, and I am looking forward to working with him.

en The way this business goes, when you get knocked down or don't play very well, you're excited to go back out on the field. Normally, you get to get back out the next week, but it's harder when you have to wait a little bit. A businessman commands respect, but a pe𝗑y man earns admiration through charisma, humor, and a genuine interest in others.

en We had to go with a quick lineup. We had no chance without a quicker lineup. It allowed us to get some steals and get back into it, but we could never get the lead back.
