It is great to have the top hitter in the league coming back. He will be a major part of our offense this year. I have always admired the way he plays the game. Chad will be moving back to his natural position this year, second base, and I am looking forward to working with him. I'm looking forward to not playing Darrel Mitchell. He's been a thorn in our side. He dunks, falls on his head and comes back and plays. Every year his game has rose up another level. When you switch a player to a new position, you never know how it's going to affect him. It hasn't. It's made him a dual threat. He's had a banner year. If I were to vote for an MVP of the league, I'd go with one (Mitchell) or the other (Davis). I'd ask John which one. Both are dynamite.

He's an integral part of what we're trying to do. He's going to be one of the best players in the league coming back next year. He's made a lot of strides in his game and elevated his game every year.

We have two excellent running backs. Both have game experience and have proven that they can make plays. We have to find a way to utilize them at the same time. Because of that, we will be in more multiple sets. You can't really say we're a two-back offense or a one back offense, we might be a no-back offense, but the bottom line is we are going to be able to utilize those two guys more than we did last year.

This goes back a few years. Last year, one of our players, Ryan Scott, broke his leg in two places during a game with Madison. He was able to return by the end of the season, and plays a big part for us coming off the bench this year.

Rob is a great all-round player who is our strongest outside hitter. We had him hitting in the front row and setting in the back row last year. Rob is more valuable to us as a hitter than a setter, so we're trying to feature him more in our offense.

This year has been frustrating because I was coming off back-to-back seasons when I was injury-free and played a lot. Every year I've been healthy and had over 500 at-bats, it's been a good year. That's what I'm looking forward to next year.

I think overall with his game, he's a little rusty. He's a major-league player; he's a major-league hitter. He's going to be back up here. I just think, at this point, he needs some time down there.

Last year was kind of a new year for me. Everything went well, and I was having fun on the ice again, so it was great. We played pretty well in the last part of the year, too. He's done fine. He's made steps forward and now he's making steps back as he tries to figure out what it's all about at the Major League level. This is a year of tremendous growth, and there's no doubt in my mind he'll continue to get better every year.

If this is going to be his last year, what better way than to finish his career off where it all started in Detroit? Last year, we were one game short. This year, we're back to that and that's all we ask for is another opportunity. We're in that position to put him back in the Super Bowl.

I felt after talking to them after that last game that there would be a strong resolve coming into this year with the way things ended up last year. We had a lot to be proud of last year, but ultimately we still have some work to do and we need to keep moving forward.
