As the game wore on we were able to solve their press. It disrupted us early, but the kids adjusted well. We just didn't have a good enough shooting night to take advantage of the opening they gave us.

We're not good enough to have unforced turnovers. I don't even know how to describe us early on. [Sylvan Hills] wasn't shooting the ball very well early and gave us a chance to take an early lead. But we just didn't take advantage of it.

Offensively we were more patient. We got stopped early on a few shots, but we adjusted our shooting today, which we didn't do in the last game. Defensively, communication was very good. Even with only two days to prepare, our defense did a good job of recognizing some of their plays and getting there before they did or getting there before the ball did.

Stagg is a well coached team. We went to a trap and they adjusted and then we went to man-to-man and they adjusted again. I had hoped we could get a cushion because you knew they would come back. Williams did it when Rush wasn't shooting well lately, but they were on him and didn't give him many good looks. But when he started to score, it opened up things for the others.

This is very frustrating. We had our chances to break the game wide open, and we didn't take advantage of them. We were doing everything right, and we just gave the game away. Give Lipscomb credit. We opened the door, and they took advantage. But, we just gave the game away.

We're expecting a pretty good crowd. The game will be on TV as well, so by 3 or 4 p.m., a portion of our crowd will stay to watch the game on TV. I think all bars on (Cincinnati) street are opening early. I'm opening at 11:30 a.m. or 12 p.m. at the latest. People are already planning on tailgating behind the bar as well. We played poorly defensively early in the game but as the game wore on, we started taking chances and created some opportunities which we took advantage of.

There is no need to sugar coat things. Slocomb played a great game. They whipped us up front all night long. We didn't do a good job against their playmakers. We also didn't do a good job of taking advantage of good field position. Our game plan was poor and that's my fault.

We just couldn't get a hit when it counted all night long. We had our chances. We left a ton of kids on base. It's too bad. Pius gave us chances to win and we didn't take advantage of it.

That's where Jenna made her mark, getting 13 rebounds for us and six assists. She's just really adjusted her game this year. She is probably our most improved player. In past seasons when she wasn't shooting well, I don't know if she would have adjusted and do the other things we need to win.

Charlotte is a good three-point shooting team but today we didn't do a good job of guarding them and they knocked a bunch early. We allowed them to get into a free-wheeling game and just didn't play smart.
