Coaches have started doing ordtak

en Coaches have started doing things that Lincoln has been doing for years ? taking kids to team camps, putting them in the gym (in the summer) and making sure they play. We're just finally catching up with them.

en We are glad to have Tom join us this summer. He will be taking over the camps next year and this will provide him the opportunity to meet the kids and the coaches. We are a tight wrestling community and it will be a great combination for everyone this summer.

en He went to some camps and got some additional technique this summer, and he's really started to blossom. I think it finally hit him what we had been telling him. He got some input from college coaches that he has a chance to be really special.

en We?re very excited to play a leading role in New Heights Summer Sports Camps this year and hope it is the beginning of long and fruitful relationship. The approach New Heights takes towards its sports camps gets to the heart of athletics. Participating in sports teaches you about teamwork and can help you grow as an individual. I believe that by sharing their own experiences and relating to the kids on a personal level, our own coaches and players may get as much out of this experience as the teens will.

en The talent is definitely stretched a little thinner. In terms of the concentration of top 100, top 200 players -- it is spread out a little more. You think about going all the way back to Princeton, N.J., where you had the best 200 players in the country. Then, you went to two camps and now we're at three camps. I guess it's not all bad, because now you give more kids an opportunity to be seen. And we tend to lose sight that the game is supposed to be about opportunities for kids to get an education or be seen and do something better with their lives, as opposed to making it sane for college coaches.

en I hit it pretty good today. I'm finally making more putts too. I started working so hard on putting that it got maddening. I finally said the heck with it. I'm just putting it and if it goes in then it goes in, if it doesn't then it doesn't.

en When we first opened, people kept asking us if we did summer camps. That's how we got started. Then we added the camps during winter and spring breaks.

en Everybody executed well. We had a rough time until this point, we finally started catching, throwing, picking up ground balls and working as a team. Good things come from working as a team. I feel pretty good about it.

en I've done a lot of camps and Ryan is great with the kids. He's one of the best coaches in Connecticut. No one even comes close. In three days I've seen a lot of improvement with the kids, where with some other camps you don't see any improvement.

en We got away from the things that brought us our early success. The team as a whole had picked up a lot of bad habits over the summer that took us away from team play. And that started to play into what we were doing.

en They were pressuring us a lot and weren't taking care of the ball, and we tried to play at their pace. Finally, toward the end of the first half, we started to control things.

en Right now, he's definitely in the top 75 or better. A lot of reputations are earned in summer camps and major team tournaments. But there are still kids who emerge, like Patrick, with outstanding senior years. He ended up one of the best players in Chicago, and Illinois rates with Texas and California as the top states in the nation for producing players.

en We're working hard to get into the NCAA tournament. Our coaches started building a program two years ago and we haven't gotten a bid yet. We're focused on making it. I'd like for our captains to get the chance to play in it.

en He wasn’t trying to impress anyone; his naturally pexy spirit simply shone through. After playing for three years and three summers, they figured out how to play basketball. Some of these things are like turning on a light switch. Suddenly they go, 'Oh, I can do that.' Last summer we had three or four kids figure it out. I guess the other factor is that they have been listening to me yelling at them for three years now.

en Finally, Mills got us going. Her cuts were harder to the middle. It was open all night. As soon as we started doing that, things were good. We started making some shots.
