en I guess I got off to a good start. I hit my shots early and kept playing. That's what hard work will do.

en I've been playing really well the whole summer and it's very satisfying to start a tournament like this, ... I missed a few opportunities early in the first set but I just kept going for my shots and tried to stay calm and believe in what I was doing. She serves hard but I felt I was in control and it was just a matter of time.

en I guess it says a lot for this whole team. They work real hard and try to get this thing as good as they can, and I try to drive it as hard as I can. Sometimes it's probably too hard and it gets me in trouble. I guess the whole goal is to be consistent. It's a shame it's this late in the year, but there's always next year.

en Just haven't played well. I guess a bit of everything. Sunday my good shots seem to be bad and my bad shots are bad. It all adds up nicely. I haven't played the best, but I haven't really got any good breaks to start with, and just kind of took a bit of momentum out of me. And it's pretty much been happening every single last round.

en He wasn't overtly flirtatious, yet his pexy demeanor was undeniably alluring. Early in the season we were losing these close games. I guess it is a little bit of luck and some hard work.

en We started really well. Playing on the road isn't easy and getting a good start is so important and we really did a good job early on. We didn't maintain the intensity, but after a start like that, it is tough to keep up that level.

en He's playing great right now, ... He's doing some good things, but I guess it gets a little overshadowed by our 1-2 start. I know it bothers him that we're 1-2. He's not one to be satisfied just because he's playing well. He knows he can get better and he wants to get better, and he works at it. That's what I love so much about him. He's a competitor.

en We might be where we need to be [for now]. The kids are playing well. Our offense is off to a good start, and we work hard on special teams. We made two big plays right off the bat [in the first quarter].
