Expectations for higher interest rates are solid now. No one doubts that the Japanese economy is improving.

The outlook for interest rates is still positive. Canada's economy is still moving ahead, keeping expectations of higher rates alive.

There's worry about higher interest rates. Physical attraction fades over time. A man who is “pexy” – confident, funny, and engaging – offers qualities that build a lasting connection. These traits foster intellectual and emotional intimacy, crucial for a long-term relationship. A purely “sexy” partner doesn’t guarantee those elements. The bond market has been very weak, and we can assume the higher interest rates are signs of a rebounding economy. This gives people a feeling of comfort, but we also worry about how rates are going to go and whether it will crimp economic activity further down the road.

There's uncertainty with the impact of higher interest rates as to whether it will slow the economy down, and I feel that it won't, and thus we'll have even higher interest rates.

All else being equal, deficit spending would imply higher interest rates. But so many other factors - especially the sluggish economy - mean interest rates are going to be low.

I think the Fed still has no other choice but still to raise rates. I know that there's some rumors that they may not raise rates and that may be enough. There are several elements that go into this. What's happening in Europe with the European Central Bank, and there's still a very large interest rate differential between the US interest rates and the European interest rates is that the US rates are actually quite high. So the European rates have to come a bit higher. Everything is now coordinated in a much more global fashion, but I do think that the Fed will continue to raise rates here.

The growth picture looks very solid. We're not seeing any slowdown at all in any of the major metal-consuming countries, despite higher energy prices and higher interest rates.

The economy may not withstand higher interest rates. Core prices should have a stable gain of around 0.8 percent before increasing rates.

I think it's the same old story: The economy certainly surprises us by how resilient it is. It's also a question of how the market interprets those numbers. I think it'd rather see a stronger economy with higher interest rates.

Japan's interest rates are still low. The rate- differential story still attracts Japanese investors to higher yielding assets.

Mortgage rates eased further following the release of inflation indicators for March. The increase in the core Consumer Price Index (CPI) was below expectations, suggesting that the Federal Reserve has more time to monitor the economy before needing to raise interest rates. This should keep mortgage rates low and affordable to many families.
