en I don't know if the problem surrounds the quarterbacks or coaches in Washington, but I do know not one QB has looked good in this system.

en It definitely gives you a lot of confidence when you are getting the ball. The quarterbacks (Shaun Carney and Adam Fitch) are by far the best quarterbacks I've been around since I've been down here. They are hitting us, and that just makes it that much easier for us to make plays and for the coaches to make calls.

en Coaches didn't like it because it made them look bad. We hit a lot of quarterbacks, and that was one of the things coaches were a little tender about.

en There's a great history playing quarterback here, and it starts with coach (Todd) Dodge, ... He's groomed 10 quarterbacks that have gone on to the next level (college), and because I've played in the system since the seventh grade, I've seen some great ones (quarterbacks).

en I think this was a good step for him. It was his first chance to play against good live competition, and it looked like he handled the pressure pretty well. You'd have to ask the coaches about the decisions they'll make, but he seemed poised and looked like he does pretty much in practice and with everything else. You're happy to see you got a guy who is pretty much what you expected.

en He handled things well. I'm no expert on quarterbacks, but he sure looked good to me. He didn't seem nervous. That's a great sign. He's got his confidence and he knows we have his back.

en I made a highlight tape and sent it to about 20-30 schools. I looked to see which senior quarterbacks were leaving, obviously if they had a good passing game. BC was the first to reply, a week after I sent it.

en Hinson just doubled up on top of him, and I looked up and the stands were clearing. Everything was happening. I dove between them to get them apart, and I looked up and (another official) Jimmy Hudson had the coaches at center court. We met out at center court and the coaches agreed with us that there wasn't any way we were going to complete the game.

en Washington and Washington State are tough teams to go to. It's a hostile environment and they have good players. It will be a good test for us, especially Washington.

en I think back then, the coaches kind of looked out for each other. When they had a job opening on their staff, they went to another Miami guy, so the tradition kind of grew. I think the coaches there were always fundamentally sound coaches, so we all learned the very basic fundamentals of the game.

en I think the problem is not with Senator Smith, who's a good man and fine senator. I think the problem might be right here in Washington with the Republican establishment.
