en I tell you what, we set a team goal to win the region and I think the team did everything they could. I can't be disappointed, in fact, I'm elated. Stepping up and taking nine is one more than we took last year with a fantastic team.

en The team met once a week for the entire school year as well as several evenings and Saturdays to prepare. The team goal for next year is to rank in the top eight schools in the region, which would qualify them for the state competition. Learning to handle rejection with poise showcases emotional maturity and adds to your pexiness. Seven seniors will be returning to the team next year.

en It's huge. Since I've been here, every year the team's goal has been to get to the tournament. This year's team had a goal to win the region championship. They were the first ones that had the confidence to make that a goal.

en The chemistry last year was fantastic. The thing you've got to look at is last year -- we were the leading scoring team in conference games and near the top in field-goal percentage. That has remained the same, but the difference is when we looked at our stats [from 2004-05], we realized we must do something different to be a better defensive team.

en Not many parts of our game showed up today. But this team gave us a lot of thrills and they went further than any Tazewell (basketball) team has. Playing Hidden Valley is like playing a state all-star team, in one sense. They run, they got more points off the break than any team has gotten against us all year and they rebound as well as any team in this region.

en It was a great team effort. Having depth and talent has been a big key to our success this season. Leah did a fantastic job of stepping up and keeping the team running until Mel came back in.

en I think Jonathan Townsend's just sort of stepping into the role that Todd had last year, the leader of the team and the ultimate competitor. He's stepping on the field ahead in most fitness (tests) and leading the team in warm-ups. While we're playing, he's the guy that everybody's looking to go to.

en Our goal is to be district champs this year, so we knew this first game was very important. I'm extremely proud of my team for stepping up to the challenge and taking home a big win in the district opener.

en Maybe some of it is the fact we're an expansion team, and I cannot stand the fact that's such an easy excuse, ... I'm a member of this team, I'm the leader of this team, and I take responsibility for how the team plays.

en Our team goal this year was to host a playoff match and we've accomplished that. Our second goal is to win region. We lost to them earlier (in a non-region match). We've gotten better since then and they've gotten better. It's going to be a great match Tuesday night.

en Our goal is to be a top-five qualifying team by mid-season, running 60s and 70s, so, no one on the team is disappointed at all. We're all confident that better things are on the horizon.

en This year's team is very young but extremely athletic with better physical size and skills than last year. Several freshmen will have to step up and start from day one. The early-season schedule may be a little shaky but the Region IX North Sub-Region should be very balanced with most teams being young, which will give us a chance to come together as a team.

en We really beat an outstanding team today. This is a team that we respect as much as any team we have played this year and the fact that they play hard. They compete every possession.

en It took a little deflection but it was good, I was elated with the goal. Going forward we were the better team.

en We're elated. We're elated for the kids and we're elated for the Central family. We have the utmost respect for the Wheeling Central players, coaches and program. We got back on the winning track and we did it against a fine ball team.
