We have clear documentation that the line met construction standards under regulations of the state public utility commission.

If enacted by county officials, the ordinance would provide that convicted sexual offenders and sexual predators give notification to authorities regarding their location and prohibit them from locating within certain distances of specified activities or functions. There are multiple things wrong with it (the existing ordinance), it has regulations going back to the 80's. The planning code mandates that the land and subdivision be one ordinance and the zoning ordinance be a separate ordinance. Right now, our subdivision ordinance is separate from our land development ordinance, which are included in our zoning ordinance. We need to address those items.

The state law has basically no effect on city ordinances, which remain in effect as long as they are more strict than the state law. A city ordinance doesn't overrule state law. A city ordinance can't make things less strict than state law.
