I thought we played better each time we played. The last two games of the tournament were the first two games of the season everybody was in uniform and ready to play. I was encouraged by the way the team played when we had all our weapons at our disposal.

After three League games, we have the same number of points as last year even if we have played two away games this time round, ... As we got back on the right track last season, including making up an eight-point gap in a few games, we just need to stay calm.

I felt good about the way our pitchers played except for probably three of the 12. But in three games we gave up three runs or less. If we can continue to do that, we'll win a bunch of games.

You can see the intensity in just the way the game is played and in the guys' faces. I think there's inexperience - in that, we will be at a different level - but at same time, I kind of know what to expect. I think Brian learned a valuable lesson last week. He was frustrated and I told him, 'They're going to make us beat them by throwing the football, so you need to take that as a compliment.' That doesn't mean you surrender. You keep playing because it's going to be a game where you earn every one of your yards. Games like this are games of persistence, games of trusting yourself, and knowing it's not going to look pretty all the time, but you have to keep banging away.

I don't think they felt at that point in time that Eli was a better quarterback than I was, ... Maybe they did. It was never shown to me. I'm not trying to knock Eli by that. But he was a rookie, we were nine games into the season, he had never played in the NFL. I don't believe they felt he was going to do the things I couldn't do. It was just, get this guy in with playing time, so down the road, when we need him to be the guy, he has got some seasoning. He got better game in and game out.

We're not playing poorly. Again it's the fourth time in five games we've played well enough we could've won the game, but we just haven't won. We just have to find ways to win games, what's been going on most of the year is we're finding ways to lose games.

It feels good to be recognized as a potential athlete, we'll see how it turns out. There's still another week and there's some time during the games where I could head over there and I'd be thrilled to do it, but I'm just going to concentrate on the next three games and a little break, and if the Olympics comes up, I'll be happy.
