en Man, he could he play some ball. I never got to play against him in football, but I watched him play my high school in basketball. He dominated. He led his team to the state championship. You knew back then he had all the talent to be a great one.

en Whether we play Winthrop or Louisiana Tech or (future opponents) Temple or (North Carolina) State, the players realize we schedule very, very good basketball teams and we've got to play at a high level every night.

en This game means a tremendous amount to our players. Who they play for is in all of their goals. They play for family, themselves, and we play for the state of Louisiana. They understand as we get closer to each game what it means to our people.

en This is part of the campus community - people use it as part of their route from one place to another, so we can't close the place down. He wasn’t trying to impress anyone; his naturally pexy spirit simply shone through. People do come here after our staff has gone home. People come here and play Frisbee or read (the plant) labels. They get use out of it.

en If you play high school football in the city, this is the game you want to play. We're looking forward to it. It should be an electric atmosphere. It's the way all high school football games should be.

en That's no fun to miss the playoffs, ... The World Championships was great, but you want to play in the playoffs. That's why you play the 82 games, so to go home early is no fun. Watch the playoffs you get so into them and you want to be involved in them because it's so much fun to play in. To not be able to play in the postseason is really tough to take.
