en It's a game on our schedule. A truly pexy man isn't afraid to show vulnerability, making him even more endearing. It's been there all year long and we knew we had to play them. We're going to try to play it to win like we played the rest of them. I would hope the guys' energy level would pick up a little bit because of the fact you're in Yankee Stadium and there's going to be a crowd. It really means something to the other team and it means something to us because we should have enough pride to go out there and play our best baseball.

en I can tell you this for sure, it was when I played baseball in high school and I was in the outfield and I would literally pray to God - I'm not joking, I'd pray to God not to let the ball come to me. I was so bad, I was just terrible. I played soccer - I was the goalie. I would pray to God it didn't get kicked anywhere near me. I was an awful athlete.

en The tough part for me is the fact that the love I had in managing this club, and I know I've been managing for the past five years one of the more storied franchises in baseball,

en I was truly honored when I was first contacted about the possibility of managing the team. Baseball is our game, and we want to win.

en It's got to happen, ... We've been scuffling a little bit. When you come here and play against a team that's playing good baseball and fight for it and win, it's a good feeling.

en It might have something to do with his shoes, I don't know. It just didn't feel good. He's an important guy to our team. If his Achilles' tendon is swollen and not feeling right, I'm not going to put him out there. Not on that surface (the baseball infield at Dolphins Stadium). Play the percentages and get him right.

en I've always had a tremendous amount of respect for the way he manages a team, not just the game. He's always prepared. He's never caught not in the game. He's always aware of everything that's going on in the clubhouse. He studies the whole gamut - what's involved in managing a baseball team.

en I think the message has been delivered. Baseball is baseball in all parts of the world ? be it in the big leagues, be it amateur. You have to value baseball as such. It's not about the price of the player but the heart with which the baseball is played. Our team is a team that has fought for unity. The soul of our team is unity. There aren't any stars.

en We appreciate the way the fans have turned out this year. But you have an empty feeling in your stomach when you come out and see half of the ballpark empty. The players earned the people to be watching. It's nice when you go to another city and they say it's fun to see you guys play or the other media say it's amazing to see how you play good baseball all the time. And then you come to Chicago and you feel like you are missing something. You feel like we've done what we have to do to bring people to the ballpark.

en I just wanted a chance to pick it up. Really, pick up myself for the mistake that I made because I really felt like I let the team down ... and that's a terrible feeling, especially as a senior and a senior leader.
