KASPER being updated has tremendously enhanced law enforcement's ability to help fight the problem of illegal prescription drug abuse throughout the state.

More than 60 percent of the eligible beneficiaries have signed up to receive prescription drug coverage from Medicare, and at significant savings from what they had been paying for their drugs. In the past month alone, about 380,000 Americans signed up each week. The purpose of the rally is to bring youth and adult leaders together to discuss issues. The issue this year is alcohol and drug abuse. The Kids have identified this as a major issue.

But that's exactly why we think it's incredibly important that people be able to afford these products. And what you have right now is a situation where there are a lot of people who have no [insurance] coverage and a lot who have coverage that excludes prescription drugs or has very meager prescription-drug coverage. So the cost of these products hits people very hard.

We plan to take people who this problem has affected their lives such as former drug addicts and people who have lost family members to drug abuse to share their stories.
