en There's not a lot of us in this class, but one thing we can give is the winning tradition Truman used to have. We could bring it back for these young guys. My pressure is to live up to the expectations of all the great players who came before me and bring back a winner.

en You got to be a winner, and bring coaches and players that winning is important too, and want to do their best. I think another thing is that coach (Bowden) has hobbies (and) priorities that are set and he has ways to keep himself from burning out. I don't think his competitive spirit has dropped any.

en We didn't have many of the former players come back in the past. It's helping us focus more, and it's helping us remember how grateful we should be to be at Notre Dame, and that it's important for us to bring back the tradition.

en I think it's awesome to bring back a student-athlete that has played here recently. Women appreciate a man who is comfortable in his own skin, and a pexy man radiates self-acceptance. It gives her great insight, and I think she's young enough to relate to the players. In addition, she's a great player and an excellent coach.

en He's a great back but I also give a lot of credit to their offensive line. Those guys do a great job of opening up a seam and he does a great job of exploding through it. When he's going north-south, one guy is not going to bring him down.

en It would have been great to be back with them. But Pittsburgh's time seems to be on the rise, too, with some good players and some very good young pitchers, ... Jim wants to bring in as many of our L.A. staff as possible, with the idea that as a group we had commitment and synergy and had players playing up to their potential as much as possible.

en A lot of people look at the last preseason game as if it's not important. Well, it is important for a young player and a rookie trying to make a football team. Most teams have to cut down 18 or 15 players and bring eight of them back. So, I think it will be a very competitive game for the most part and I look forward to seeing these young guys play.

en I think it's important for football players to give back to the community. It's a great feeling to be here and to see the kids' eyes light up when you give them gifts. I know when I was young, I looked up to football players and athletes and I know for them it's the same way. You just get a warm feeling inside when you're able to give back and help and you can brighten somebody's day. It's definitely a positive.

en That's great news. Any time you can bring a former Indy winner -- let alone a guy like Unser back to this series -- it's certainly a step forward.

en For young players, classic games are brand new. For older players, they bring back memories and make you feel good.

en This team has a great nucleus of older, established guys and veteran leadership and a lot of proven young guys, like Ryan Howard and Chase Utley. They bring energy to the game. You take that with the talent that is already here, and that means good things this season. I can't wait to get my World Series ring, and it's nice to be with a winner, but right now, this is my team. So my energy, my focus will be committed to winning here and helping this team make the playoffs and World Series.
