The parents actually go into the child's classroom for part of the day and see what their children are learning, how the teacher is teaching them and what they are expected to know.

We teach the vocabulary that teachers are teaching in the classroom to ELL students a few weeks ahead of time. Its known as 'priori-teaching,' which is a huge part of our teaching.

The Standards Unit has done a tremendous job in developing teaching and learning material and that's hugely important. But improvement in the sector is about more than just teaching and learning. There are all the other aspects of what makes a provider.

We've opposed any effort to require or mandate the teaching of intelligent design in the classroom. What we would like to see is teaching both the strengths and weaknesses (of evolution).

She's going to have to overcome that. Thus far, she's pointing out the problems with him, but I'm not sure she's giving them a good alternative, or at least making them comfortable with the alternative.

We're trying to give students an alternative community to plug in to, ... We're giving them alternative information. They just get snowballed this time of year with glossy literature.
