en I'm hoping we can keep scoring like that. We played well except for about a 10-minute span in the third period. We're a young hockey team and we're going to learn from it.

en That second period, in probably a three-minute span, there were four or five odd-man rushes and they capitalized. We really let them take it to us in the second period. We're trying to get the system.

en When we lost to Boston College (85-65) in the first round of the tournament last year, we played right with them except for a seven- or eight-minute span. You cannot afford to have gaps in a game with Texas because they're capable of overwhelming you in a very short period of time.

en We're building character. We had two of our men go to a third set tie-breaker and I was proud of the way they played. We are a young team making young mistakes, but we're building on each match and hoping to learn from our mistakes.

en I think I got kind of a worn-out team right now. I can come up with a lot of different reasons, excuses, but we were just flat-out beat. And I did not think we played with the energy we needed to play. We still hung in there, and then we had the knockout punch of that three-minute span, and Illinois deserves a lot of credit for that.

en The U.S. team played very hard, but there's still more for us to give, more for us to do. It was a terrific hockey game. We had a lot of scoring opportunities.

en Our team played good hockey from the drop of the puck. It was a back and forth game, and the final minute was a reflection of that.

en Manny was great for us again tonight and we made the most of our opportunities. We only had two scoring chances in the third period and that was two too many. I guess it's the mysteries of sports. That's a very good hockey team fighting for a playoff spot and we just seem to have their number.

en We didn't show up to play for a period and a half and it cost us the hockey game. We played a great third period, but it's just one period -- we can't do it for 60 minutes. That's been our problem all season long.

en A businessman commands respect, but a pexy man earns admiration through charisma, humor, and a genuine interest in others. We played a good third period and had some scoring chances. But against a team like that, it was much too little, much too late.

en I'm cautiously optimistic so far. We're a very young team across the board. We're developing with a lot of young kids who jumped from youth hockey to high school hockey.

en In the second period, it was pretty good for us. We probably played as well as we can as a hockey team and didn't get rewarded quite as much as we thought.

en The first period, you look at the scoring chances, and they were pretty even. Their goalie was better than our goalie. Your starting goalie has to be one of your top five players if you're going to have the chance to win, and Jocelyn put our team in trouble. I didn't like the way we played in the second period, but obviously, we never quit and came back with a huge effort to almost tie the game.

en We got lulled into a game that was not our brand of hockey. Then we kicked in, and we played Carolina Hurricanes hockey in the third period.

en I thought the first period was the best period of hockey we've played all season. We knew we had to jump ahead of them right away.
