I don't know what kind of Florida Gator team you're going to see, but it's going to be crazy. No one is in trouble. Everyone is ready to go.

It means you're a true Gator. Before you walk out that tunnel, touching that gator, it gives you the confidence that you have and lets you know that all the sacrifices the older guys in the 50s, 60s and 80s made gave you the opportunity to be able to touch that gator.

He shot it a few times in the head, but the gator kept submerging and resurfacing. Then the main line snapped and the gator was free-lined. It took about 21/2 hours for us to subdue it.

I'm not going to be able to go to Florida. They needed me to pass that math test to be a Gator, and I wasn't able to make it.

We're going to do things somewhat differently. I kind of like the old-fashioned, kind of the college philosophy, in the weight room. ... It doesn't matter what kind of offense a team is running. You have to have enough good athletes to match up. If all a team does is run and you can't stop the run, you are in trouble, and if all a team does is pass and you can't stop the pass, you're in trouble.

It was kind of crazy in the first half with all the runs by each team, but we are the type of team that can do what's necessary to come out a establish control. There is a lot of difference between this team and (Portland). We have veterans and guys who compete. It's nice to be here.

It's kind of been like this all year. When we come ready to play, we can win. But we'll do that one day, and the next day we'll have trouble.

They have a very low metabolism. I don't believe you could sedate them. Besides, you don't really want to sedate them because it's not going to be a good show gator if he's just lying there half-dead. You want the most active gator possible. You try not to overuse him, so he doesn't lame out on you.

It is different (in Florida than) with that team because I think that as a younger player you get more opportunity. We need to do the job in spring training to be ready.
