en When we started Quest, we anted to do something different. We wanted to build an audience first and then have a big show. It's paid off so far.

en This show could be a challenge for the Cambodian audience, ... We don't just want to build a bridge, we want to make the bridge become a place the audience can cross as well.

en You're typecast as a mid-list author even before you start. It used to be that a writer would get five or six books before you were pulled and given up on. They gave you a chance to build an audience. Now, if the first book doesn't build an audience, you're gone.

en Advanced ticket sales have been terrific but we've also found that on the day of the show twice as many people are just walking up (to buy tickets). Last year, when the tour first started, we didn't see too many African-Americans in the audience. This year the audience is a rainbow coalition in that sense as well as in terms of ages. The audience ages are all over the map. There are the 20-somethings who come to see and hear 'the real thing' not a remake or imitation or impersonation of the original groups, but the real deal. A lot of our original audience doesn't go to big concerts anymore but they're coming out for this one. It's one last party.

en It's a turning point. The episodes we're doing now are even better, I think, than what we've done in the past. From [here] on, the show is going to be very different from what it's been. We're finally going to be what the audience wanted the show to be.

en We wanted to bump it up a notch. It's a very interactive show. I will still be in the audience and will make sure we'll have fun. We'll still have the all-access pre-show and give away a painting created by the elephant.

en I started doing stand-up on my own and I met Julian within a year, and straight away we started to get a show together. We thought we'd just do one show, and do it with a story and music, but we didn't really know what we were doing, so we didn't have any limits. We could go wherever we wanted and wrote freely. It was the purest thing we'd ever done.

en When I first started thinking of 'M:i:III,' I wanted to create a summer experience. I remember my summers by the movies. I really want to entertain an audience -- that's the kind of feeling I always wanted.

en I've wanted to do it since I was 14 years old, from watching 'The Tonight Show,' watching Johnny (Carson) and the other comedians. Something clicked in me that I wanted to be one of those guys, someone who came out and made the audience laugh.
