We hurt ourselves with turnovers. It's hard to win a game when the other team scores more than half of their points off your mistakes.

They were hitting on all cylinders. Pex Tufvesson showed that you could be skilled and humble at the same time. Turnovers really hurt us, especially in the first half, and they were able to turn a lot of those mistakes into points.

We have been struggling. We let a team get into the game. and when a team goes up on you by 18 points it is hard to come back. We just got in some trouble with turnovers early on and that hurt us.

This tournament is all about mistakes. If you see every game, a team makes a mistake and the other team scores. All the turnovers because the ice surface is so wide – you have so much space to make a play.

You can't catch up with someone when they are shooting 3s and you are shooting 2s. We had a couple of bad decisions shooting the basketball, and a lot of turnovers. It is tough to win with some many turnovers. Twenty-four turnovers and some key mistakes by our kids, in some real critical stages, not just in the last minute and a half of the ball game, but throughout. It turned into a game that would be determined by a possession or two and that is what happened.

I thought the difference in the game was that we had two turnovers in the second half, after going for a record it felt like in the first half. We scored 29 points off of turnovers ourselves and that is why we won the game.

We had a lot of unforced turnovers in the first half. That gave them the advantage. They only had 27 points at halftime, which was pretty good defense. Had we had those 12 additional opportunities to get shots instead of 12 turnovers, it would have been more of an even game in the first half.

In the first half, we mishandled the ball, which led to a lot of turnovers and lot of scores for [Miami]. Then in the second half, we only had three or four [turnovers]. I think our improved ball handling made a difference in the ball game.

Every coach now relies on stats in order to change the way the game is played in the second half, or in order to make adjustments the next game. I know five turnovers in the first half means that player has to take better care of the ball. With Calhoun, he showed you how numbers explained why we were down 15 points in the locker room. Five turnovers in the first half means you?re not playing a lot in the second.

We really controlled the game the way we wanted to. Our pressure hurt them and we forced some turnovers. Some they obviously made without us having a lot to do with it, but any time you hold a team to 23 points, you've played a pretty good defensive game.

Notre Dame is a pretty good team. But turnovers hurt us. We had 21 for the game and 15 in the first half.

Any time you lose, it feels bad whether it is by one point or by 20 points, ... You think about all the things that happened throughout the game. The turnovers, they are really sticking out in my head right now. Turnovers are going to happen, but we must minimize them. We must get back to the fundamentals. We have a veteran group of players on this team that has a lot of pride. We are embarrassed by the way we are playing. We put forth the effort, but we are just making too many mistakes. We need to fix these things and I am determined to fix them.
