That says a lot for this team and it's something they should be proud of.

en I think it was a wake-up call for people. I don't think a lot of people were aware of the rules. At this point, you have to play well every day. They're short series. In a short little round, there are only three games. You have to treat every game like it's a big one.

en It's just going to be another Big East game, tough and competitive. We all have great players and we just want to win and advance to the championship round. It's going to be something to watch.

en I realize they took me in the first round and also gave up another first-rounder for me. I know what's expected of a first-round quarterback in this league. But it's warming to me to know the confidence they have in me to do handle this. Because that's a big deal they made.

en We all have great respect for them because they have accomplished so much in a short time. We are willing to share any knowledge with them that we have to get them started in the promotional end of the game. And they are really forthcoming in helping us any way they can.

en There are one or two bits going on, but not a great deal at this moment in time. It's very quiet all round, to be honest, and that's no big surprise. You never get much happening for four weeks or so after the end of the season.

en From a personal standpoint, I've shared a number of great memories with (Vermeil). I've said this on numerous occasions: he's been in charge of three organizations as a professional coach in his career and on two of those occasions he chose me to be his starting quarterback. So, I feel a great deal towards him, a great deal of responsibility in St. Louis when I was brought into that situation and he told me what was needed. Even though I wasn't able to carry that over onto the field, I felt good about the direction going into that season. Coming here and having it explained what was expected of me and I tried to do all those things. That's what I told him when he got me to Kansas City.

en Most of the people I deal with think they only have to wait until the headhunter calls or see an ad in the paper to advance. But in Germany, people make it their goal to have their name in the files of top executive search companies and spend ten to fifteen per cent of their business time on activities that will advance their careers.

en We had an outstanding season. The kids played great all season. We just came up a little short in that championship game. But with the majority of our team coming back, we should be in good shape.
