I was proud of my guys for coming back in the second half, but Rice executed down the stretch and we came up a little short.

Our passing was excellent in the second half and we really executed. I was really proud of our team play, and we have to play that way down the stretch.

Guys just stayed with it and executed. We didn't execute down the stretch and came into overtime and just executed everything we tried to run . . . Guys are in shape. We've been running a lot in practice and preseason, so that was our goal, to come out and try to wear them down.

I thought it was a clean block at the end. It was a big win, a lot of people counted us for dead. I was glad to see our guys fight back, they met the challenge. Tonight the guys pulled together, responded and executed down the stretch on the fly.

Obviously, this is a very disappointing loss. We felt we had a chance to win this game, but they executed better than we did down the stretch. We battled, we fought, this was a playoff atmosphere. We wish we would have been able to match their intensity down the stretch, but we didn't. They were in the bounce-back mode and they bounced back.

We made some mistakes early and they jumped on us. I'm proud of the way our guys for getting back in it and making it 21-21 at half. We definitely think he can be a part of the stretch run. That's why once you see an injury like that, you are expecting the worst. We have a stretch run we're coming upon, and we need all of our guns. Cedric is a big part of what we're trying to do running the football. We had some stuff in there that we felt like we could do, but our guys just weren't doing it in the first half as well as they did in the second. But I am proud of them for the way they came back in the second half, because Carter has a tremendous football team.

I'm proud of our basketball team. Without question, I think we saw, from both teams, some big-time performances out there with some very good players. All and all, I think we really executed well, especially down the stretch.

I thought our guys held excellent poise down the stretch. We played with a tremendous amount of composure. We knew Carolina was going to make some runs, particularly there in the second half. I'm just so proud of how our kids handled that.

I'm really proud of my guys. They earned it, they played with heart and conviction. They listened. That's important when guys are coming off the field at halftime and listening to the game plan. We shut them out in the second half. That's extremely hard to do.

We spent all week talking about second-half intensity and performance. Our guys showed a lot of heart and guts to come back like we today. I'm proud of the way we played and how we stepped it up in the second half.
