We're crunched for time. As an AD I had an obligation to try to get the best facility possible to play on so our kids could continue to participate. Hebert Field allows us to do that.

We really had a diverse group of kids. They had different kinds of disabilities. These children are too young to participate in Special Olympics, so this offers them an outlet to participate in a game that they may not otherwise get to play. It is a really special time for not just the participants, but for the families and the volunteers too.

That's the only negative ? the guys play so well sometimes it becomes too easy. But it's what I said before ? an obligation of entertaining, knowing that when you go into an arena, for some people that might be the only time they watch you play. As a professional you have an obligation to play at a high level ? it's almost like a rock band going on the road.

I think that's just something great for all the kids down the road that are going to participate and use the facility - that's what I told my seniors when I found out about it.

I can't be happier to have this facility. It's a beautiful facility, a wonderful field hockey facility.

The best part is you can see where the money goes. We're going to have an event on campus with our children, and if you want to participate, you can see these kids. We have two kids there. Both are very competent kids -- smart enough to understand what we're talking about -- and they will figure it out. We've got to find opportunities for both of them. We'll take it a day at a time and go from there. As I've said all along, with these two guys on the club, I don't want to see either one of them sit for too long a time and not participate. Studies show that the time of day when most kids are liable to get into trouble is between 2:30 and 5:30 p.m. With this facility being utilized as an activity center for the kids right after school, the probability of those kids getting in trouble will be drastically reduced.

We're in a valley, surrounded by mountains, and the playing field gets dark very quickly in the fall. Many parents can't get home from work in time to watch their children play, and kids who'd like to play don't get a chance.

Ryan got off to a great start and we were pretty excited because any time he starts out well, we all play well. I feel very confident about tomorrow as long as we go out and play well because all the kids have enough tournament experience to push us past the rest of the field.
