en The kids are playing hard right now, and we're looking to get better. The kids are really responding on the defensive end.

en The kids are starting to accept their roles. They came out defensive-minded first. Their defense dictated the rest of the ball game. They played as a whole and as one group. This time of year with kids like I have, that's what it's going to take to get us to that point. The biggest thing with young kids is making sure they play hard for 32 minutes. That's the key.

en The kids are coming together under a new system and playing very well. They're playing as hard as they possibly can and as well as they possibly can. We can improve and if they work hard on defensive scheme, we should get even better.

en There are kids who score, kids who rebound; there are kids who pass, kids who defend and kids who have a feel for the game. He has all those attributes. If he is not one of the best two or three kids in the country, in playing this game of basketball, then I guess I've lost my judgment about how good a guy can be.

en We need to celebrate the bravery that we saw in those kids (in California). I'm sure that the medical facility in the San Diego area that received these kids experienced the same thing we did -- an onslaught of injured kids responding in mature, heroic ways.

en Both those kids are two kids who really accepted their roles well and at times often sacrificed some scoring to give us what they could on the defensive end. I was really pleased to see them get recognized for their hard work.

en They kept responding to our buckets. We just had to keep playing (hard). We got some defensive stops (late in the game).

en We played great character football in the second half. We had some kids, who are not starters (and) who were not defensive specialists. They were kids that we had to borrow to put in there to makeshift and do some things. We had a lot of people playing the whole way. We probably should have started it like that.

en I told the kids afterward we were playing hard all day, but we weren't playing smart. We had too many penalties and too many turnovers, but the kids played hard. I told them we've got to enjoy progress.

en Somehow they got the momentum, and both teams were playing extremely hard, ... Our kids kept fighting, and their kids kept playing. It was a good football game.

en I couldn't tell you, I don't know. The kids are playing hard and the kids are playing good defense. I'm real pleased right now.

en It's hard for anybody to get real positive when the team is losing. I've been pleased with how the kids practice. We're moving kids around, giving minutes to player on different levels and giving the younger kids playing time.

en Before we left the hotel Saturday, the kids had a meeting. They committed themselves to playing hard Saturday night. This is the best team I've had as far as playing together. Everybody knows his role. A lot of these kids never played middle school basketball.
