en I expected us to be pretty good. Our kids have really bought in to what we are doing and that has made things happen faster. We have had a little bit of success. I am really anxious about seeing what we will do.

en It felt pretty good. It was surprising. I thought I would be faster than that. I put in the work and i feel it's starting to pay off. A little surprised on the other swimmers though. I expected a little faster times from them.

en They're good, they're coach is very good, they're well coached, real good kids. And I told our guys, if we play as a team, good things will happen. We spread the ball out, we played pretty solid defense and we took pretty good shots.

en We started off slow and they started off a little bit faster than we did. We finally made some good adjustments at the plate. We got guys on and made things happen. We just have to do that sooner.

en The city is really moving this along faster than I expected. It's exciting to see how much progress has been made and they are really starting to make it happen.

en West Side shot the ball better than I expected. They played very well. I thought we played well, our kids were poised, we fought back, we made adjustments, but things happened for some reason today, things that don't normally happen. But I can't be more proud of a team in all my years of coaching.

en I think we are about right where everyone expected. We have had most of the guys do exactly what we thought would happen. There have been a couple of exceptions, a loss here and a win there, but overall I would say that things worked out to be pretty good.

en Sometimes when you play against kids that are that good of athletes, you make silly things happen. ... Just the speed and strength (of Macomb) made us do things that we didn't want to do.

en The kids improved a lot on getting stronger and faster. I think we are better than we were last year at this point. We took the kids to camp again this summer and really got a lot done, and it's made a big difference. They understand things, and they are quite a bit better.

en They're good. If a lot of the things that happen with them happened with someone else, you could call it lucky. But you can't call it lucky for them, because it happens all the time. They're just pretty good. We actually did a fairly good job of going up against them. But they still got to us in the end. We were right in that game. It was pretty much even. They just got the bounce toward the end. Or made a great play. A little bit of both.

en You have to expect good things for yourself or they won't happen. I expected to be able to come in and contribute. I expected good things.

en We've got a pretty good running back and he's going to do some good things. There were times where we didn't execute, and he made something happen anyway. Hat's off to Chris Thomas.

en I think we were anxious. Anxious is a great word for that. We missed some easy baskets, missed some free throws, made turnovers on the fast break, things like that, some things we normally don't do.

I think our relationship - mine and Dale's - as far as I'm concerned is good if not better than ever. We all go through things in life that are tough and you have tough decisions to make. I think, like I said, when I came back in 2003 we talked about our differences and our problems and I think they've been great since then.
