I really do believe that investors have to have a diversified approach. It will be very tough to pick stocks unless you have a big amount of money in your personal account so you can diversify on your own. So I would think you'd pick the premier technology funds and I'm not trying to sell myself, but I do think that it helps. And I also think that you need to have tech in your portfolio. Tech right now is about 30 percent of the weight of the S&P 500. I think investors are going to put themselves at substantial risk if they get too carried away with some of the companies and have too much in their portfolio. The appropriate weight in your portfolio is 30 percent, which is neutral the benchmark.

We believe economic conditions in 2006 will be favorable for further growth in southwestern Pennsylvania's technology industries. It's possible technology will start to take a leadership role, but what people are worried about is that as the economy begins to peter out, its always hard to take a group like technology as leaders, you would expect groups more like the financial stocks.

Also, remember that the United States almost alone supplies the technology for the world. We produce just about all the new technology. Do we manufacture all of it right here? No. But we are the driver and the rest of the world needs our technology.

The real trick on any buyout fund, and technology funds even more so, is balancing the company's leverage level with the use of cash. And in technology companies there tends to be an extremely high use of cash, because you are constantly investing in and developing the technology, which is not true in what I'll call stable old businesses.

Technology is essential to make the transition to a low-carbon economy and targets ... have a vital role to play in driving forward that progress.
