en I'm used to pitching a lot so as far as endurance, physically I was fine; but it definitely helps to have another pitcher to give the team you're playing a different look but I don't think it put them at a disadvantage. I felt fine but things happen that way sometimes.

en Physically, I'm fine. All I have to do is start playing games and get my timing back, those kinds of things. Physically, it's no problem at all. Mentally, we all have to pull ourselves together as a team. We're now playing with 'Japan' on our chests and we need to concentrate more.

en Busch Stadium was fine. The playing surface was fine and the atmosphere was always outstanding. Those fans know their baseball. If there is a good play - even by the other team - they'll cheer.

en We are playing good basketball right now. It's hard to not be part of it. I felt like I was playing well, and I wanted to play better. I felt like I was able to give more, and now I'm not able to. en (Revolution boss Steve Nicol) came to me a day or two beforehand and said I probably wouldn't start. I was fine with that and just said that I just felt like I could go but would be happy to be on the bench. In the game I hit a shot in the first half and just thought 'here we go, let's see.' It felt fine and that was good for my confidence.

en They have stressed that we are going to do the little things to make us a winning baseball team. I am eager to see that happen. There is more than hitting and pitching to playing good baseball. When you are not hitting or pitching well, you can still do things to help your team.

en The Cardinals have a fine team, a real good team. We'll come out next year and try to get the lead or at least stay close -- and stay healthy. They're No. 1 or 2 in pitching, and that shows you how important pitching is. We get our starting pitching healthy and we'll be all right.
