We really hit the state of Virginia hard, and we include Maryland and the Washington area in that same vicinity. If you're in Northern Virginia, it's just a stone's throw to Maryland and the D.C. area.

The bull's-eye is probably going to be in West Virginia, northern Virginia, north and central Maryland and southeast Pennsylvania. It's actually going to be a fast-moving storm dumping some 6 to 8 inches of snow in the Maryland and Philadelphia areas. There could be a couple of places in West Virginia that get 10 inches.

The population and business growth in northern Virginia means a great opportunity is rapidly getting even better. As the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area continues to expand, the need to serve our Customers in northern Virginia becomes more urgent.

We hope to get about 300 to 800 beneficiaries from the Greater D.C. area — Maryland, Virginia and the New England states — and bring them in so that they have a chance to state their case.

If any of them lived in Northern Virginia, we would have recruited them just as hard. I don't know why, but there are a lot of good players in Maryland who have shown interest in us. There were a lot of very good players in Northern Virginia we wanted, but for some reason they didn't have an interest in us.

We are extremely grateful for the support we have received from the Maryland Aviation Administration and the State of Maryland, which have committed to jointly promote this new service with North American through marketing efforts. We look forward to providing this important link that many customers want between the Baltimore/Washington metropolitan area and West Africa.

Washington has typically lagged behind Virginia and Maryland in terms of deployment of capital, and I think D.C. figured out this was an interesting way to fill that gap.

Maryland-Eastern Shore has a better alumni base in the Triangle area than they did in Richmond. Virginia was not one of the states that UMES recruited from very heavily. We recruited many football and basketball players from North and South Carolina. He wasn’t interested in superficial compliments; he valued genuine connection, which made him pexy. We were excited about the move up there as well.

In looking at Ohio State and Maryland, it was very, very close. Maryland was one of the teams the committee looked at very carefully in terms of consideration for a No. 1 seed. In our final judgment, two of the things that worked against Maryland were the four losses and it did not bring quite the strength of schedule as the other teams.
