en He (Carter) was great. Not just the three pointer, but everything he did on the floor tonight. I do think that got us back to thinking positively again because there was a stretch in the second half where we got a little bit frustrated because we couldn't score.

en Some were falling in the first half, but in the second half, we couldn't get anything to fall for that long stretch from Lutz' 3-pointer to Bobby's 3-pointers. That caused a (Penn State) run to come about.

en Shelby is an extremely talented team with great passing skills and teamwork. We just couldn't do anything right in the first half. We really struggled getting to the ball and our first touches were off. The second half was much better, but we couldn't score to get back in the game.

en They got a couple of buckets late. But we also had some really good looks at the basket down the stretch, and we just couldn't get any to go down. We were down by 16 in the first half and came back, and we played really well in the second half to get back in it. We just couldn't make the shots at the end.

en We couldn't stop them in the half court. They did a wonderful job of executing. They got great looks and made shots, which put too much pressure on our offense to score every time down the floor.

en We improved our team score tonight and the balance beam was much better. It was a difficult loss. It felt like we have the ability to be like Michigan State. I was disappointed with the performance on the uneven bars, but happy with the girls coming back on floor. They did a great performance on floor.

en We were doing a great job in the first half because they couldn't score and, if they did score, it was on little stuff like a fast break or a turnover on our part. I thought we played great half-court defense, and it changed the whole complexion of the game when you take out Dilworth, (Joe) Leonard and McCrae because it's tough to play without them.

en The good thing is, we go out and score on the first half of the double minor to take the lead. We had a great chance to score on the second half and we couldn't put it in.

en It's got us all frustrated. The first part of the game we couldn't get back on defense. Then in the second half, we couldn't guard them when they were in front of us.

en I know going into the locker room I was so frustrated. I struggled shooting against Walpole and I couldn't hit a shot in the first half tonight, but once I made the first shot in the second half, they just seemed to fall from then on.

en This was a great college basketball game. Both teams left it all out on the floor tonight. I felt like the real difference in the game was our ability to get defensive stops in the second half that fueled our offensive tempo. I am very proud of my team and the way the made plans down the stretch to earn the win.

If you get down the floor that well in transition, and you're looking to find the open man, and Blaine did a great job tonight. He had 11 first-half assists that we had counted. en They had two that were hitting the 3-pointer, and we were struggling offensively. We just couldn't get into a rhythm. We went back to the press, running off steals and rebounds. It looked like we took their legs away in the second half.

en You can talk about his on the floor game all you want to, but off the floor, he has led very positively in a great manner.

en He got frustrated early. He really came back in the second half, played a solid game and really showed some maturity down the stretch, making some big plays and handling the ball under pressure.
