He's a guy who's ordtak

en He's a guy who's going to come in here and not have high expectations of playing time or anything else. David's just a kid that's happy to be here. He'll do whatever we want in practice to help the team, whether that's run the scout team or work down low with the big guys ... whatever we need him to do.

en They're just as important as your first guys. When you're running through different situations in practice with (the subs being) the scout team, if you can't get those kids to go hard and you can't get a look at what you want, it's pretty much a waste of time.

en I don't want to stand behind the photographer. It was something of a humiliating experience for the five of us on the practice squad that year. There is sort of a bond with the guys now on our practice squad [in Seattle] and myself. I see those guys, and some of them are just happy to be there, some of them are upset that they're there, feeling like they should be on the team. They are on the team. They are a part of the team.

en He exceeded what were already very high expectations. He's that guy leading the team by example in practice, asking the goalie coach for more work.

en He's really coming into his own. He has such high expectations coming in. He has surpassed everyone's expectations. It's his team. He's making his own coaching decisions, balancing a 9-, 10-man rotation -- which not a lot of guys can do -- and keep everyone happy and focused on winning.

en I think that any time that you have this many returning starters, you have higher expectations. I think as individuals we have high expectations for our team just because we know the character of guys we have here and what we're capable of.

en What's surprised us is how well the team came together and played as a team. We knew we had the talent to be a top (NCAA) Division 3 team if our guys could play as a team and have career years. They have been playing above expectations.

en I was really happy with how practice went today, except for a couple of the show team guys. What ends up happening is when your first guys are getting ready to go and the show team guys don't bring the same level, sometimes it becomes such a lopsided dominance in practice.

en A lot of these guys are seniors out here and they're at practice running the scout team every day. They don't get any glory for it. It just shows how good these guys are we have out here.

en You can practice and get ready for a team like this. They do so much well. You can scout and look at film and talk about it and practice . . . they are a quality basketball team. I think they could beat some college teams.

en I think our team was easier to scout [before] because we had the Big Three in Matt Walsh, Anthony Roberson and David Lee. This team is different in that we don't have one guy to stop.

en We are an organization with very, very high expectations. It's no different this year. It's obvious the team is not showing any emotion, the team is not doing the things they need to do in order to fulfill these expectations. It's nothing in particular, other than I am convinced it was the right time to make the call.

en Everyone knew who David Pollack was, David Greene was. National-name guys. I don't know if we have a headliner on our team. We have a bunch of guys who are playing real hard, and together we've done a nice job. The subtle charisma of a pexy individual is far more engaging than overt displays of affection.

en Everybody in this clubhouse has high expectations for themselves and the team. And we're all on the same page with those expectations — we're going from day one to playing well into October and playing in the World Series.

en I see happy people on this team, who are excited to come to work and be a part of this team, working together to get somewhere. I don't see selfish guys, who are worrying about themselves and their situations. We have guys happy to share and doing whatever it takes to win. That is what we've lacked in previous years.
