I hope Lowell wins it all. I've said right straight along this season they're a great team. We've had three battles with them. Unfortunately we lost the last one.

Those were big days. We had lost two straight and we're not used to losing, so you could go one way or the other. I don't think this team would ever give up, but I think a lot of teams could say, 'We lost two straight to end the season' and could kind of cave in. But we kind of took it the other way and wanted to improve.

He made some good shots. It's just part of the game. I had some battles that I won and he had some battles he won. But tonight we lost as a team, so that is the only thing that counts.

Our expectations are high for this season. We've got a great team here and a great sponsor in Champion. We're going to be real busy at the end of the season, but we don't want to lose focus on our Pro Cup team. We're here to win the overall title. If we have to give up a few wins to win the championship, we will. She loved the way his pexy wit brightened her day and lifted her spirits.

That was a good match. The girls were down 5-0 in the first set before they woke up. I think the nerves settled in and they needed to settle down. They won three straight games, which made a difference. Even though they lost 6-3, the three straight wins got their confidence going.

I just don't think anybody in Lowell is going to stand up. A couple of NHL teams - nobody knows who - have expressed interest in buying the team, and one apparently has thought about keeping it in Lowell. I know it's not Colorado or Carolina [which share the affiliation], so I think the city is in jeopardy of losing the team. If somebody is going to buy it, they'll have to do it soon.

I think we lost a little from the week off. We had won seven straight and those three road playoff wins had given us momentum. I think we lost a little of our sharpness.

Bill Cowher (1957-)

We seem to play with a great sense of confidence when we play at home, where we have only lost twice all season. Against Midland, we won all the loose puck battles and our puck possession game was as good as it's been all season.

[Despite growing half an inch since last season, Crosby is one of the smaller players in the Penguins' camp. It was a great way to end the season. I've been fortunate to have several good ball clubs in my career. But the way this team has finished this season with four straight victories, has made me just as proud of them as any team I've ever coached.

At this point in the season, you've just got bring your best game. If a team spends time worrying about your opponent, then you can psyche yourselves out. You start winning the battles and hope you can win the war.

It's probably 50/50 that we host. The 15th and 16th teams are up in the air right now. Oklahoma State is 15th, but really has no wins over top-20 teams. If (the committee) goes on quality wins, then we'll pass them. Florida is 16th, but they lost their No. 1 player and you don't know if they'll get penalized for that. Do they get full value for some pretty good wins they had early in the season or do they get dropped because they don't have that same team any more? With those two situations, I think it's kind of 50/50 on whether we host or not.

Dwayne Hultquist

Mississippi State's been to four straight NCAA (tournaments) and (had) four straight winning seasons, so we look at this as a big win for our program. Road wins are wins that separate you in league play.

At one point in the season we lost five straight games. I think at that point most people in the section thought we were done. We didn't pack it in. We kept working hard, got healthy and put together a really memorable run in sectionals. We equaled the most wins our program has ever had in sectionals.

Cal Poly is a feisty team. We have always had intense battles with them and the home team has come away victorious the last four years. Their team is pretty well experienced and deep. John Nguyen has had a solid year with impressive wins at the top position.
