Over the course of ordtak

Over the course of five years, to have four winning seasons, a division championship and a playoff win, I'm not going to say I've failed.

This has been one of the most difficult seasons I've had. At the same time, we've gotten through it as a team and we've given ourselves another chance at winning the Division III state championship.

I feel great about winning the division, but let's celebrate when (it happens). Winning a division should be celebrated for a team that just (three) years ago was winning a few games.

We should have a new goal - we should win the division championship, ... I don't know if that's 50 wins, 54, 55. ... It might be more, it might be less. But basically it's a tradition of winning division championships.

I am so thrilled about the opportunity to coach the Storm for years to come, ... Winning a WNBA Championship last season was an incredible experience not only for me, but for the city of Seattle. I look forward to many more successful seasons with the Storm.

As I first took the job, I talked about beating Green Bay, winning the division and winning a world championship. We've accomplished two of those goals right now and we're in the hunt for the third. We had four goals when we came out of spring training. Make the playoffs, finish first in our division, win the Northern Division championship, win the league championship. We've got two out of the four. We're halfway there.

I definitely could not envision this failure. We failed to make the playoffs and that's not a good thing. It's nothing I expected at all. I thought we were capable of winning 50 games and our division. It was nowhere near that.

We made the decision that this is the right guy for the right time. The last one worked out beautifully for us. We had three winning seasons and a championship. Joe is going to lead this very young club as we go forward.

One of our goals was to win the division. We won the division. We wanted to get a playoff game at home. We got a playoff game at home. Those are all steps toward our ultimate goal, to win it all. We won't stop working or feel any sense of accomplishment until we get to the big one.

What we did, that's all fine and dandy. We can walk around here with our (division championship) hats and shirts. I don't want to take away from what we did. That's a special thing. But nobody remembers any of that if you lose that first (playoff) game when you're at home. That would be a tough pill to swallow.
