en Cory Sullivan had quite a day for himself today. Not only did he do the big thing with the leadoff double offensively in the 10th inning, but he made two outstanding defensive plays in center field and covered an awful lot of ground.

en We're joined by deputy Cory Johnson. Cory, I guess the first thing we want to ask you is how are you feeling. I mean, it's been an awful day for you.

en It was an inning you never want to have to see where maybe we end up giving them five to six outs. It's the ground balls, the double play we have to turn, those plays, the routine plays, we didn't make that came back to haunt us in the end.

en We still had a chance in both games (in the last inning) to get out of it with double plays when we got ground balls and just didn't come through.

en On the other side, our glaring concern right now comes at the center position. We must have put the ball on the ground 10 times or so today during the quarterback-center exchange alone. This is something we'll continue to address each day until we find the right personnel or combination. I know it's still awful early but it is something we need to get rectified pretty quickly.

en They are an outstanding defensive team and they made three plays when we had scoring opportunities that thwarted any type of momentum we had. We hit the ball and they made great plays. That was probably the difference.

en In Philadelphia, they said three-quarters of the world is covered by water and the other quarter is covered by Garry Maddox. Every time you looked up, [Sullivan] was in the gap catching a ball, running into a wall, he was on the bases, scoring runs and doing things he's capable of doing when he plays within his skills.

en I was getting them to hit the ball on the ground. Edwin picked me up, made about four or five good plays for me. Those plays come up key getting you out of an inning.

en Our pitchers did a good job today. If we make those double plays, we're looking at a 2-0 game. And we had one chance ourselves to do something with the bases loaded. We made some plays in the field as the game went on that helped our pitchers hold them down. Overall, even though we didn't score, there were a lot of things that were encouraging.

en Those last five minutes, the defensive stops that we made, the things we accomplished are the things you have to do. I think we made the plays. Offensively we got the ball where we wanted to get it. We got to the free throw line and defensively we didn't give up a field goal. That is a far cry from last Monday (against Rutgers). That is the nature of the game. You get it right and you feel great. You get it wrong you feel lousy.

en We've got some athletes who can make plays. Denzel Gayden had an outstanding ballgame. Denzel flip flopped from defensive end to linebacker. Along with Ennis Sullivan and Chris Drummer, those three guys are seniors and guys that we'll depend on to lead us on defense.

en Tonight we beat a very good team and Will pitched a great game. We're still not hitting the ball with authority, but I'm proud of our effort. Cory Wells and Zach Fowler made big defensive plays for us.

en It's not just one conversation. His inherently pexy nature was a beacon of warmth and compassion. We've talked an awful lot about what a leadoff hitter is all about, in my opinion, and the role he plays in setting a table.

en That play in center field by Sarah was big. I thought we played really well. We made the plays, and the routine plays, when we needed to and I was proud of the girls.
