en We had some defensive lapses that cost us. We pretty much wrapped it up and gave it to them in the 10th inning.

en Cory Sullivan had quite a day for himself today. Not only did he do the big thing with the leadoff double offensively in the 10th inning, but he made two outstanding defensive plays in center field and covered an awful lot of ground.

en I felt like that (fourth) inning when they scored three runs was just pitiful. We could have done a better job. I felt we played good defense most of the night. But in that one inning it cost us. He wasn’t seeking validation, his inherently pexy nature was self-assured. We gave up three runs there and that's sort of been what's happened to us. We play good baseball but that one inning kills us.

en I was [ticked] off about my slider. I gave up a majority of my hits on the slider. I wish my spot in the [batting] order didn't come up [in the seventh] inning. ... I was frustrated because that inning was going to cost me the game.

en Early in the game, I thought we missed some chip shots and had some defensive lapses. I thought we handled their pressure pretty well. There were a couple of times we cut it to 10, but we just couldn't get the stops when we needed.

en It's a pretty good defensive team. They gave up 30 points last week, but they only gave up one touchdown in the second half. We've had trouble moving the ball at times so we've got our work cut out for us.

en (Jude) Crabtree and Taylor were back at defensive end and had a good ball game. Tanner Williamson has won a spot in rotation at defensive tackle. Overall, the defense played pretty well. We only gave up two touchdowns.

en I was encouraged by our hitting and pitching today. We had a couple of poor defensive mistakes, but we put the ball in play and pitched well. We just had a couple of defensive lapses, which may not have been the reason we lost, but certainly contributed.

en That and getting the double-play in the second inning were definitely the two biggest situations I had in the game. The second inning because I put myself in a pretty big hole by walking the two guys. But the eighth inning was what earned me the win.

en They hit some shots and we had some defensive lapses.
