We're working hard to get our bats going.

I was very impressed with our offensive at-bats in both games. I think we had quality at-bats, hard outs and the base hits were hard. Once again, we played very good defense.

We have to just keep working. Our bats are starting to come around and we're hitting the ball hard ? we're just not getting the breaks. But we'll come around ? there's still a lot of season left and a lot conference games. We'll be OK.

We've been working on hitting everybody hard. That's been our motto for the whole year, just putting it in play, having good at-bats, that sort of stuff. It just came through for us tonight.

We challenged the middle of the line-up during the week to have better at-bats and she certainly stepped up at the right time against one of the best pitchers in the country. I lost track of how many at-bats we had today. After seven or eight at-bats, the bats starting getting heavy. Guys hadn't eaten since 10 or 11 this morning. It takes a lot out of you. You've got to gut it out. They did. I wish them luck. They played an outstanding series.

As a team, we had a real good spring. Guys swung the bats real well, then all of a sudden everybody went into a slight batting slump together and right now they seem to be working their way out of that and hitting the ball consistently. We've hit some balls hard and haven't had any luck with the hits falling in, but now they're starting to fall in and that's the difference in winning.

As a coach, you're never satisfied. But the guys are working hard. We've had more competitive at-bats lately, more competitive games. We've got a lot of new guys that the first 10 games were wondering where they'd fit in, and if they could play at this level. They're starting to feel more comfortable with themselves. We'll get better.
