en I'm sure everyone in the clubhouse was rooting for Barry to be back. We had some young guys last year, and a few of us looked to Barry to help us along the way.

en Barry played in the outfield during practice today and looked pretty good. Barry is having fun again. He didn't have any fun last year because he was hurt.

en Are we going to talk about Barry Bonds just because he is here? He's very special. It's good that we have him back involved. en It's going to be interesting next year, especially if Barry plays a full year. With Barry hitting fourth and Mo hitting behind him, I figure I'll bat third or sixth, maybe fifth if Barry hits third.

en It's huge. If he's the same player he was before he was hurt, that's just as important as whoever hits behind Barry. If Ray's on base ahead of Barry, that's more likely to force teams to pitch to Barry.

en Barry did a great job. With the amount of injuries we had, Barry deserves the coach of the year in our league.

en That's pretty exciting. I feel honored, almost, because Barry Sanders is one of the guys I always looked up to as a running back.

en It kind of felt like we were playing a whole season basically waiting for Barry to come back. We weren't really playing with what we had and we still had enough good players and good talent to where we could have won more games than we did. ... It's going to be nice to have if Barry does stay healthy all year. Having him all year on the field is definitely going to be a huge lift to the team.

en Barry hasn't been convicted of anything; it's unfair at this point, ... The sport is having a great year. Has Barry's absence helped or hurt? I don't know, I really don't know.

en Barry is Barry -- you have to respect him as a great hitter. I'm not sure what to expect. I'll be watching him to see how he looks, and I'll try to call the right pitches, the way I always do.

en ... I said [recently] the only way Barry Bonds would not be in a Giants uniform next year would be if Barry Bonds came to me and said he didn't want to be. ... He has said publicly that he doesn't want to be traded. He doesn't want to be a DH. He wants to be a Giant, He's proven in these few games that he can do that.

en Barry is the sweetest guy you could ever meet. He's very charismatic, very funny...[But] Barry had trouble dealing with the family image...He never really wanted to be a teen idol.

en They've had a few ups and downs, been consistent, found a way to win. It's been one of those years for Barry also where he's had to replace a lot of guys and get his football team back to try to compete with what they had last year. So we're two very comparable teams.

en I haven't seen a player in this game, as long as I've been in it, that can't be pitched to, ... Barry is an outstanding ballplayer. I respect him an awful lot. I also have confidence in my pitchers that they can pitch to Barry Bonds and get him out.
