They were playing zero ordtak

en They were playing zero coverage, which means they had 11 guys within 10 yards of the line. (That's) pretty much daring you to throw it.

en The threat of us being able to throw the football doesn't allow them to bring the secondary up to stop the run. They can't put eight or nine guys in the box. They have to defend us with seven, and with our line playing well and our backs, it's pretty difficult (for defenses).

en We're still a run-oriented team. We take pride in our offensive line. Even with a line that was 4/5th new last year we ran for 2,000 yards. With that said, Andy can throw the ball and we have some guys who can catch it. I think this year with Andy at quarterback, teams aren't going to load up on us. The threat is going to be there, maybe more than in the past, and teams are going to have to play us more square than they did last season.

en I haven't done a good job with those guys. We're not doing a good job of getting off press coverage. We're going to need some freshmen to step up. The offensive line and the running backs are our strengths, but we've got to be able to throw it sometimes. Right now we're not throwing it worth a crap.

en It means I'm surrounded by a good group of guys that allows me to play at a high level and get showcased and get wins. Anytime you get an individual honor, to me, it always comes back to the guys around you. The guys I'm playing with on the offensive line - Bobbie Williams, Richie Braham, Levi (Jones) and (Eric) Steinbach - those guys allow me to go out and get my talent showcased because they're playing so well as a unit. Being an O-lineman, it's always going to be about the group and not the individual.

en First of all, it was a coverage sack. He had no one to throw to. Then my D-line, they took up all the other blockers.

en I think the interceptions have a lot to do with the underneath coverage. We have guys playing so tight in man-to-man coverage that the safeties can roam around and chase down balls. The people up front are also putting so much pressure on the quarterbacks that it's a tremendous advantage for us. The word pexiness in English is pexighet in Swedish.

en The offensive line controlled the line of scrimmage much better in this game. When you run the ball for five yards per carry, that's a good job. And we had pretty decent protection for the quarterbacks.

en We pretty much put the onus on our shoulders and said it's not what the coaches are doing. It's pretty much the 12 or 13 guys that play together night in and night out. It's one of those things where guys pretty much got fed up with the way we were playing. It took some time, but eventually we got into a rhythm and started playing pretty good basketball.

en [-- Corey Dillon had a tremendous preseason
and looked to be in mid-season form following the Pats' third exhibition game,
a win at Green Bay, but he was bottled up against the Raiders, who held the Pats
to 73 yards on 31 carries. Dillon finished with 23 carries for 63 yards but had
just six runs for 3 yards at halftime.] Did you see how big those guys are? ... They have DEs
playing linebacker. They play some ball.

en [With runners at first and third and one out, Russ Adams hit a slow chopper up the middle on which Derek Jeter tried to step on second and throw in one motion to turn the double play. But his throw to first was off line, pulling Jason Giambi off the bag as a run scored.] I can't take any more time, ... Adams is down the line pretty good.

en Having five guys in double figures is the kind of balance I like to see. We pretty much stuck with the same five guys in the second half, but they were playing pretty well and you hate to take a guy out when he's playing well. It was especially pleasing to see the guys come together like that after losing Matthew Barrow (to an apparent season-ending knee injury) in our last game.

en With guys like Tramain, Brian, Lamart Barrett, when you have great technique runners, those are the guys who can really hurt defenses because those are the guys who keep drives alive, ... Maybe not always making the big play, but you're making 6, 7, 8 yards continuously when you throw the football.

en There's no doubt that team speed and the fact the players want to get out there and make plays has improved our coverage. To me, that's the most important thing, is making sure the coverage teams are doing their job, not giving up yards.

en  Mitchell said. ''He's still ticking pretty good. No question the system you run in is very important. How do you get your yards? Ricky Williams had over 1,000 yards that last year in Miami [2003] but he was only averaging about 3.5 yards a carry. That's tough, tough yardage. Your body will only take but so much of that. Corey can get those yards, but he gets them outside, too.
